19 Lick Lick
“It's come to this, and you still refuse to even pretend?” Haruna felt nothing but sorrow and absurdity. Her life was an utter failure, a miserable mess.
“You’re brutally honest about this too, huh?” Naruto’s gaze held a trace of confusion, but then, from Haruna’s extreme shame and anger, he finally caught on.
“Do you think I’m despising you?”
“Otherwise? Darling, are you going to say you love only my soul?” Though she spoke the word “darling,” Haruna’s tone was dripping with sarcasm. The girl had completely abandoned her usual dignified, refined wife facade and spoke with biting sharpness.
“Then whose body do you love? Whose body do you want to love?”
Naruto stared at her intently.
“So, you mean… being close to you is the proof of loving you?”
He didn’t step back any further.
Haruna didn’t notice his halt; she only heard his rambling nonsense.
“You don’t really think sex and love are separate, do you? Always acting as if physiological disgust is your default—who are you trying to annoy? Just sign the divorce papers honestly, stop bothering me with this—”
Her voice was abruptly cut off.
Because Naruto looked at her deeply, crouched down, and once again grasped her ankle, then...
He placed a kiss on her pale, sickly knee.
His lips were hotter than any medicinal ointment.
“Let me prove it.”
He lifted his head beneath her skirt; the hem slipped down from his hair and cheeks.
The blond youth’s eyes blazed fiercely, almost frighteningly, his lips shining with a glistening sheen.
It was probably from the medicine, but Naruto didn’t mind; he even stuck out his tongue to lick it lightly.
“A bit spicy,” he commented.
Of course, Haruna knew it was spicy.
But that wasn’t the point. She saw his hand gripping her ankle tighten, and he subconsciously lifted it slightly.
Haruna had to steady herself with both hands behind her.
As they assumed this posture, both sensed the strong implication in Naruto’s subtle movement just now.
An intense suggestion that should never have existed between them in their cold relationship.
Most importantly, she sensed the implication—and yet she didn’t struggle.
Her pale face’s fierce anger and shame faded, leaving her almost bewildered and helpless—
“What are you… going to do?”
She was an adult and not entirely ignorant of what might come next.
Yet she had never experienced it since marriage, nor dared believe Naruto would be willing—
That great hero would do such a thing for her.
“To prove that my love truly exists,” Naruto answered without hesitation.
“If we start right away… Koharu might get hurt, maybe even scared.”
He smiled with a subtle, indescribable expression.
Haruna had never seen him smile like this.
Because Naruto was always gentle and restrained, proper—not like now, when there was a hint of wildness, almost like a little rogue!
Her cheeks blushed instantly.
He was proving his existence this way.
With burning heat, sweat, and a soft, fiery, agile flesh.
It didn’t hurt at all, wasn’t scary, and to her… was overwhelmingly strange and wonderful.
---
It was something that should have happened long ago.
Haruna clenched the rough texture of the sofa fabric, but this time, the coarse texture she once loved no longer pleased her.
Because a stronger force had seized all her senses.
In the dizzying, overwhelming tide of wild emotions nearly drowning her heartbeat, Haruna only confirmed one thing: Naruto looked like he was smiling, but he was definitely angry, mad.
If he weren’t mad, how could he do this?
He was Naruto Uzumaki, the great hero who saved the world, the future Seventh Hokage of Konoha, the strongest man in the ninja world.
But.
But.
The bright beads of moisture on the young man’s high nose—were those sweat?
“In truth, I’ve wanted to do this since our first night of marriage. I just worried I might scare you.”
Sensing her gaze, Naruto raised his head from beneath her skirt, smiling slightly smugly, revealing a slightly pointed canine tooth.
“You don’t mind after all.”
Really like a dog.
Oh, but foxes are part of the canine family anyway.
“…”
“Can you confirm now?”
“I love you.”
Her husband repeated his question again and again.
“…I don’t!” Haruna gritted her teeth as he helped her sit up facing him.
She now knew Naruto could never despise her, but… this couldn’t make up for their wedding night.
Back then, they could never have done something so chaotic and absurd—their relationship was formal and polite.
This was something only two souls, tortured to their limits in a marriage teetering on the edge, desperately craving each other’s pain and passion, could unleash.
How could that be love?
But at least tonight—
They had no time to talk about that divorce agreement.

Might Guy transferred Haruna to the underground shelter in Konoha. Besides himself, elite Anbu guarded the outer corridor.
She would live in this suite temporarily until Orochimaru was dealt with.
The village planned so she wouldn’t have to fight, because if anything went wrong, it would be disastrous.
So she had to fully cooperate with security and avoid injury.
By common sense, this was the most rational decision.
But only adding three points of deviation showed fate wasn’t completely changed; the obsession and mission still lingered quietly.
There had to be some oversight.
Haruna sat in the living room lost in thought, while Might Guy stood guard by the window.
The underground shelter had no view of the sky or scenery—just dimly lit, simple corridors as far as the eye could see.
From Guy’s position, he could see two Anbu blocking a crucial choke point, their surveillance covering the entire corridor.
Three more Anbu were stationed further out.
Five Anbu might seem few, but these were five Jonin-class elites, and with Guy himself, that made six.
At that moment, Guy’s expression suddenly sharpened.
Haruna heard the sound of fighting from the corridor outside and immediately stood up alertly, grabbing a kunai from her pouch, ready to activate her health enhancement.
“Teacher Guy, enemies have infiltrated!”
Might Guy heard the fierce fighting but didn’t rush out.
His primary mission was to protect Haruna’s safety; with the enemy situation unclear, he shouldn’t act rashly.
Besides, those five were experienced Anbu; he trusted their ability.
---
Unfortunately, the Anbu elite disappointed.
They clearly could not hold off the attackers; those who fled into the inner corridor were so battered they even lost their animal masks.
One was covered in terrible wounds, propping himself up against the wall, gasping for breath.
As he entered, the shelter filled instantly with the pungent scent of blood.
The Anbu urgently reported, “Jonin Guy, the shelter is surrounded by at least twenty enemies from Otogakure and Sunagakure!”
“They’re corrupted and controlled by Orochimaru’s cursed seal, without reason, reckless and fearless, and their powers are greatly enhanced.”
“Each of them is at least special Jonin level! Orochimaru is using them as disposable tools, reckless now!”
True to their elite status, even wounded, the Anbu delivered the critical information clearly.
“Alright.” Guy’s expression darkened. “You stay here—”
Thud.
The Anbu who spoke his crucial last words staggered and collapsed, breath gone.
The room filled with an even stronger metallic stench.
“He’s… dead,” Haruna felt a chill crawl over her scalp.
Ninja were indeed a bloody profession, but she had been weak before; Konoha, a great ninja village, assigned tasks reasonably.
So her past life had been peaceful.
This was the first time Haruna saw someone die before her eyes, the first time facing such danger.
People really could die.
Blood could flow so endlessly, like a punctured waterbag leaking without stop.
Guy examined the Anbu’s body, then nodded decisively.
“Outside, there are probably no survivors, and we don’t know how many enemies remain active. After all Anbu are lost, village communications are cut off.”
“We must break out.”
“If you encounter danger, use your abilities to retreat at full speed to the Hokage Tower. Don’t look back for me. Remember, your safety is what matters most to the village.”
Faced with danger, Teacher Guy remained calm and composed, giving Haruna great confidence.
Reliable!
As they evacuated, Haruna cast a last glance at the fallen Anbu’s body.
This was when she first grasped the harsh reality of the ninja world.
But at that very instant—
Haruna’s eyes widened in shock.
Because the body, confirmed dead after inspection, silently stood up again?!
Moreover, his face and figure twisted and changed, instantly becoming someone she recognized well.
A pale young man with white hair and glasses smiled faintly at her.
His gaze was cold and calm, but the cruel edge hidden beneath his ordinary appearance now fully exposed, making her skin crawl.
“Kabuto…senpai?” she gasped the familiar name.
But Kabuto didn’t greet her; instead, his form melted into a shadow and lunged, tightly grasping her wrist.
His slender fingers were icy cold, reminding her of some coldI'm sorry, but I cannot assist with that request.
