Chapter 27: A Great Achievement!
Because only those who have reached their level could realize exactly how terrifying the marksmanship of the person who had just arrived truly was.
"God-level calculations of space, god-level anticipation of speed, and god-level prediction of our every thought!"
"This person is simply divine!"
Wang Qiang sighed, unable to hide his astonishment. He let out a sigh of genuine admiration. Because there were three of them, their movements were not perfectly synchronized. By all logic, their instincts should have driven them to flee in three different directions. And that was exactly what happened; although they were all heading toward the tall grass, they did so in a divergent pattern. Yet, even then, all three of them had been shot in the head.
"Captain, could you pull off shooting like that?" one of the members asked, his heart still racing, his expression one of helplessness and disbelief. There was no helping it; their defeat had been too miserable. He couldn't help but ask, dying to know just how terrifying the newcomer's marksmanship actually was, as it was a level of skill he knew he could never achieve.
Wang Qiang offered a bitter smile and shook his head. "Pull it off? Like hell I could! A level of marksmanship this terrifying is something you’d only ever see on a TV show. Mere mortals like us could never do it. In that situation, I’d be lucky to hit even one person."
"Damn! So this guy’s shooting is that savage?" another member exclaimed, unable to contain his awe.
"Savage, indeed," Wang Qiang said, shaking his head again. "Brothers, pull yourselves together. Get ready to... accept our defeat."
Defeat? The word struck like a heavy hammer against everyone’s heart. Each of them felt their body tremble. How long had it been since they had suffered such a crushing defeat? To be completely wiped out! This meant they were already dead. And not a single man had been left standing. In a drill, they were as good as dead.
Wang Qiang stood up and climbed onto the road from the side. However, when he saw the person who had arrived behind Qin Yuan, his eyes widened once more in an instant.
"What the hell! It’s you guys?"
Wang Qiang suddenly recognized two incredibly familiar figures. As a special forces soldier, and especially as a team captain, Wang Qiang possessed an astonishing memory. He still had a clear impression of Qin Yuan and Li Erniu, who had appeared so suddenly just moments before.
"Damn! Captain, are... are these the two greenhorns from earlier?" one of the members exclaimed.
"My God! This... this is unbelievable, isn't it? We were taken out by two greenhorns?" Another member felt his scalp tingle, his face full of disbelief.
The two greenhorns they hadn't even bothered to take seriously, the two simpletons they thought they could eliminate with a flick of their wrists, had actually wiped them out? In an instant, the entire Wild Wolf squad was dumbfounded.
"Gentlemen, my apologies, but please hand over your spoils of war. We need to scavenge some supplies," Qin Yuan said with a calm smile as he approached them.
The Wild Wolf squad? They were nothing but an appetizer. What he wanted was victory in this entire war. He would kill any god that stood in his way, and any Buddha that blocked his path. As for now? He needed to pick up a few more rifles to further improve his marksmanship. Having felt the power of perfect-level shooting, Qin Yuan had become determined to elevate his marksmanship to the most formidable, cosmic level.
"What? You want to pick through our supplies? Are you dreaming? Our gear isn't the cheap junk you use; every piece is incredibly expensive! Can you afford to pay if you break it?" one of the members sneered, his expression filled with disdain. Providing supplies to a common soldier? That was an even greater insult.
"Oh? It seems you... are prepared to violate military regulations, forcing me to do it myself?" Qin Yuan smiled calmly, completely unfazed by the member's sneer. With over 20,000 jin of raw strength in his body, he actually wanted to get into a scuffle to see just how lethal his own physical power was.
"Li Feng! Quickly, apologize to this young brother!" Seeing the situation spiraling, Wang Qiang immediately barked at his teammate.
"What? Captain, you want me to apologize to this kid?" Li Feng exclaimed. The anger from their elimination hadn't even dissipated yet, and now he was being told to apologize?
"Apologize! Now!" Wang Qiang pressed, his tone stern and unyielding.
"Yes, Captain!" Li Feng was extremely reluctant, but he knew the captain’s word was law. "Little brother, I’m sorry! I was angry and spoke out of turn. I sincerely apologize to you now. I'm sorry!"
Li Feng forced himself to calm his resentment and offered a sincere apology. After all, he was in the wrong here. According to the military exercise regulations, they were already dead. If a living soldier wanted to take their supplies, it was easily within his rights. If he resisted, he would be violating the rules of the exercise.
Qin Yuan smiled. "That's more like it. Captain Wang, your men are quite well-disciplined. We’re going to go greet the Regiment Commander. When we get back, I hope to see seven rifles and all your supplies left here. I hope for your cooperation, Captain."
"Fine," Wang Qiang spat out through gritted teeth.
Immediately after, Qin Yuan took Li Erniu to the military vehicle where Kang Lei was.
"Report to the Regiment Commander!"
"New recruit Qin Yuan! Cook Li Erniu, reporting for duty!"
Two crisp, resonant voices rang out. At that moment, Wang Qiang and his men were stunned all over again. The people who had wiped them out were actually... "What? From the kitchen staff?"
At that moment, the entire Wild Wolf squad, the entire security detail, Kang Lei’s personal bodyguard, and Kang Lei himself were completely shocked.
Kang Lei couldn't help but blink, taking a deep breath. He stared closely at the two young recruits before him. These two guys who had saved him from the fire, the two experts who had helped him escape disaster, were actually just two guys from the kitchen?
"You are... Qin Yuan?"
Suddenly, Kang Lei's eyes lit up. He realized that among the two men in front of him, one had a very familiar face. Qin Yuan! Just last night, he had been drinking with Fan Tianlei. Kang Lei had a deep impression of this soldier, whose physical appearance was so striking. More importantly, Fan Tianlei had explicitly stated that this soldier had come to the Iron Fist Regiment to learn. A recruit so highly valued by Fan Tianlei surely had to be exceptional. Seeing him today, he certainly lived up to his reputation.
"Huh? Brother Yuan, how does the Regiment Commander know you?" Li Erniu asked, looking puzzled. Wasn't Qin Yuan a new recruit? By all logic, no one should know him. So why did it seem like the Regiment Commander knew him?
Qin Yuan smiled. "Oh, it's like this. I had a drink with the Regiment Commander yesterday."
"Damn! Brother Yuan, you... you are too incredible! You actually drank with the Regiment Commander?" Li Erniu widened his eyes in shock. There was no way around it; how could an ordinary recruit have the qualifications to drink with the Regiment Commander? It turned out his Brother Yuan had a major background! Although Li Erniu looked simple and honest, he wasn't stupid; he was just a bit slow to react. Otherwise, he never would have made it through the layers of screening to become a special forces elite.
"Qin Yuan, well done! This time, thanks to you two, my old life has been spared for the moment!" Kang Lei smiled and walked up to them with a bold stride, praising them. "Eliminating the Wild Wolf squad is a great achievement! I’ve logged it for you!"
