Kaisa: "Do you know why you’re troubled?"

Michael: "I don’t."

Michael lay back in his chair, propping his head with one hand and crossing his legs, embodying the image of a disenchanted youth.

Kaisa sighed deeply. "Because you lack the strength, you have no choice but to abide by the rules set by these bandits."

Michael smirked. "You want me to make the rules?"

"Exactly. And I need you to make the rules for the entire universe."

Michael chuckled. "Your so-called righteous order—isn’t it just like this country’s nuclear deterrence and nuclear monopoly?"

Kaisa replied calmly, "No. I’ve chosen a group of idealists to enforce my order. Every word I say is true. The order we uphold is free from double standards, even when it comes to my sisters."

"You’re truly insane," Michael said, suddenly feeling a twinge of fear.

"Sometimes, you have to be insane. Only then can you establish a new order and make the world run according to your vision."

Michael pressed a button, and a box was brought before him. Opening it, he found the deep blue Cosmic Cube inside.

As agreed, he had one month to study it.

Originally, Ludan had intended to take the Cosmic Cube back, but Michael outright refused.

Holding the cube, he stared at the azure energy within.

"Sorry, I’m not an idealist. At best, I’m a dictator, and honestly, I quite enjoy my current life."

"I’ll wait for you for ten thousand years," Kaisa said with unwavering authority, her tone resolute as if discussing something trivial.

"I might not live that long," Michael replied.

Kaisa scoffed lightly. "Maybe you’ll change your mind during that time, kid. Keep trying."

Michael wore an expression of helplessness.

I’m really not young anymore.

Kaisa continued, "Every monarch is a dictator. The meaning of a king is to be supreme. The emperor of the universe is, in essence, a tyrant. No matter how benevolent you are, you’ll find some who refuse to bow to others."

"Take Odin, for example. If the Nine Realms didn’t submit to his power, how could they be so peaceful?"

"But a world ruled by kings is different from one without. And not all kings are the same."

"For instance, even knowing Morgana’s grand scheme, when the people of Earth refused to sacrifice the few to save the many through bombing, I agreed. Because it’s their right to choose—I refuse to take that away."

"Later, Morgana and Karl killed me. Without my rule, the world plunged into chaos again. Earth was besieged by the gluttonous army and the demon horde. The people suffered terribly, yet I faced death calmly. Do you know why?"

"Why?" Michael asked, curiosity piqued.

Though the neutron star was still some time from exploding, Kaisa did not resist; she waited silently.

She had even said she could instantly kill Tilena after she was controlled, yet she chose not to.

And when transported before the neutron star, there was still one minute before detonation, but Kaisa waited calmly.

One minute—an eternity for an angel queen to act.

Karl did have the aid of the Great Clock, but had Kaisa truly never studied countermeasures?

"The reason is simple. I believe the angelic righteous order is not outdated. I believe in Yan, in Hexi, in Queen Fraser, and in the power of the galaxy."

"When the children grow, the world will no longer need me. I believe... Hexi thinks the same."

"Why?" Michael pressed again.

Kaisa was the Angel King, one of the highest beings in the universe.

"We are all growing old," she smiled softly.

"I don’t crave power, because behind power lies endless responsibility. I am tired."

She went on, "If it weren’t for someone like Huaye, I might never have raised the banner of rebellion. After so many years as Angel King, I am already content."

"The new era doesn’t need people like me. They carry no shadows of the old age in their hearts; the light of the future will shine even brighter."

Michael gazed at the Cosmic Cube in his hands. "What must I do? Or rather, who do you want to resurrect?"

Though Kaisa’s philosophy was domineering and self-assured, she was undeniably a genuine idealist. She could have destroyed Morgana with a single strike but chose to respect humanity’s wishes to forgo bombing.

One could say the wars that followed were due to Kaisa’s death. Had she survived, those others wouldn’t dare run amok.

If it had been the United States in Kaisa’s place, they wouldn’t have even given a warning before bombing. As long as they didn’t accidentally kill you, you’d have to thank your lucky stars.

"Heh, have you truly made up your mind?"

Michael smiled. "I think I need to experience the angelic righteous order first. As for everything else, we’ll see. I’m really quite satisfied with my current life."

Kaisa smiled again. "Very well, but you must hold firm. Angels are more beautiful than you imagine."

Michael was at a loss for words, as if she was trying to seduce him.

"So, who do we resurrect first?"

"Yan, I suppose. Hexi probably wouldn’t want to be resurrected."

In truth, "resurrection" was not quite accurate—it was more like copying and pasting.

He recalled a game where the protagonist was a robot who, for humanity’s future, had to travel to the moon. Dragging his broken robotic body, he transferred his data to a new body but found he still retained consciousness.

The new robot carried all his memories and would journey to the moon with them.

"How exactly does this work?"

"I’ll need one of your cells as an information carrier, then cultivate it into a complete embryo. Finally, under the catalysis of vast energy, it will develop directly into a god-level body."

"Oh."

Michael asked again, "So, wouldn’t she just be my clone?"

"Not at all. During the embryo’s development, the transmitted information constantly modifies it, shaping it into the form best suited to Yan."

Michael understood.

In fact, various life forms are genetically very similar. The genetic similarity between humans and horses, for example, exceeds ninety-five percent.

When Michael examined Thor’s genes, he found his similarity to humans was only ninety-one percent.

Consider Thor: his father was Asgard’s God King, and his mother a witch from another world, light-years away from Earth, yet the similarity was still high.

Yan’s genes and Michael’s would not fall below ninety percent similarity.

"By the way, if we can clone angels directly, why do we still seek Thor’s genes?"

Kaisa was momentarily speechless.

Have you considered that if you don’t modify your own body, you have no hope of obtaining the Cosmic Cube?

"Cell modification requires massive energy. You must prepare an energy conversion device in advance. As for the embryo’s preliminary cultivation steps, I will handle them for you."

"Alright."

Michael went off to prepare the experimental equipment.

He needed to build an energy conversion device and a large petri dish for embryo cultivation.

Before becoming an adult, the embryo would remain inside it.

Because energy must be continuously supplied, the requirements for the culture medium and dish were very high.
