Chapter Fifteen: Valley of the Tyrannosaurus (Part Two)
Kuangchi laughed as he nodded, glancing at Anna’s excited face. “So, you want to leave the Forgotten Star as well?”
Anna nodded repeatedly. “Not just me, but many want to leave this place and return to the homeland of our ancestors. Our ancestors told us that’s where we truly belong.”
Kuangchi smiled wistfully. “A final home. But isn’t every place a paradise? Perhaps, for you, the Forgotten Star is your true final home. Even if you return to your ancestral land, do you think the outside human society will accept you?”
Anna was taken aback, clearly not having considered this. Perhaps many in Nostalgia City hadn’t either. They didn’t realize how the mainstream human society now treated mutated humans.
Kuangchi didn’t want to say more, instead smiling as he took Anna’s small hand. “Has your grandfather said anything about the cultivation method I taught you?”
Since Kuangchi returned from the surface a few days ago, he had learned by chance that the cultivation methods humans used on the Forgotten Star were not suitable for the native humans here. Most could only practice the ancient methods passed down by their ancestors, but after so many generations, these methods were mostly incomplete—just like Anna’s.
Upon learning this, Kuangchi simply shared with Anna the cultivation method of the four sisters of the You family. Though not the pinnacle of cultivation techniques, it was far more complete than what Anna was practicing.
Anna blushed, pulling her hand back from Kuangchi’s. “Grandpa didn’t say anything; he just said you’re a bad guy.”
With that, she turned and ran out of Kuangchi’s private bath.
After Anna left, Xiaohua poked her head out, looking toward Anna’s departing direction. “Master, are you really going to marry Miss Anna? Won’t Miss Zixia or Miss Phil be unhappy?”
Kuangchi was momentarily stunned, then somewhat displeased. “What do you know? Don’t you think Anna and I are truly well matched?”
Xiaohua nodded and then retreated back into Kuangchi’s body.
Kuangchi had just stepped out of the bath when he saw Jing’er and the female city lord of Nostalgia City sitting and chatting cheerfully in the hall.
Jing’er smiled upon seeing Kuangchi and said, “Fatty, come over here. I want to discuss something with you.”
After Kuangchi sat down, the female city lord glanced toward his bath and smiled. “Mr. Kuang, you’re really extravagant—using an entire Ant Crystal just for a bath.”
Kuangchi smiled and bowed slightly without replying.
He then asked Jing’er, “What’s the matter? I heard you’re helping the city lord with something important. If you need my help, just say so.”
Jing’er smiled and looked toward the city lord.
The city lord said, “Don’t worry, I’ve instructed several elders to secure the surrounding area. Not a single bug will get in.”
Jing’er nodded and then turned to Kuangchi. “It’s about the spaceship’s power system. We’d like your help.”
Kuangchi was stunned, then surprised. “The spaceship’s power? What can I do? Didn’t they say you had a solution?”
Jing’er blushed. “Of course I have a solution for the power problem. I just want you to retrieve something.”
Kuangchi pondered for a moment, then said sternly, “Jing’er, are you sure about this spaceship power? You know how eager the people of the Forgotten Star are to return home. Building this ship cost so much. If this is just a joke of yours, not only will they never forgive you, I won’t either.”
Hearing this, Jing’er furrowed her brow and shouted, “What do you think I am? Do you think I’m as heartless as you? I know your family knows you’re here. They won’t just ignore you. After your exile ends, they’ll send people to get you. With the power of the elders in your Kuangwu Hall, no star, even the Forgotten Star, could stop them. That’s why you can sit here so comfortably. But have you ever thought about them?”
She pointed outside and glanced at Siqing. “Is Siqing sister wrong? They’re human too. Why must they pay for the deeds of their ancestors? Because of their ancestors, should they be abandoned by humanity? Do you even know how they survived these ten thousand years? You’re a butcher—a butcher without compassion.”

Kuangchi was stunned, then glanced at the sorrowful female city lord beside him before asking, “Jing’er, I’m not saying you’re wrong, but I hope you don’t deceive them.”
Jing’er snorted angrily. “Deceive them? How? Although I can’t provide a complete power system, I do have the manufacturing plans for it.”
Kuangchi was taken aback, then smiled bitterly. “Jing’er, you don’t really think the tech level on the Forgotten Star can produce a spaceship’s power system, do you?”
Jing’er glared. “Why not? Do you know how hard the Forgotten Star has worked to return to its homeland? Nostalgia City may look ancient, but that doesn’t mean their technology is backward—especially in space technology, which they’ve researched painstakingly for over ten thousand years. Some of their tech is even more advanced than our Imperial Research Institute’s.”
At this, the female city lord spoke. “Mr. Kuang, I think you may be fooled by Nostalgia City’s appearance. From the day of its founding, we began developing spaceships and have never relaxed our research. We’ve neglected the city infrastructure, but that was necessary—to evolve according to nature’s laws, to better adapt to this planet, and to weed out the weak. Only by doing this can our limited resources have maximum effect.”
Her expression turned sorrowful, and she fell silent.
Jing’er added, “Do you know what survival of the fittest means here on the Forgotten Star? From birth, humans here are already in a process of elimination. So many lose their right to survive due to various reasons. Don’t you think that’s cruel?”
Only then did Kuangchi understand why Old Tuo said if he were gone, no one would care for Anna. His expression shifted.
Jing’er sneered beside him, “I almost forgot—everyone calls you the Blood Sea Butcher.”
Kuangchi quickly interrupted, “Enough. Just tell me what you need.”
Jing’er’s expression softened slightly. “My sister’s office on the spaceship has a data repository containing vast information across industries, including some research from our Imperial Institute and blueprints for dozens of our empire’s space warships.”
Kuangchi exclaimed, “What? Blueprints for dozens of your Whirlwind Empire’s warships? How did those end up on a warship?”
Jing’er’s face showed a strange expression. After a moment, she said, “My sister is currently the Imperial Chief Minister of our Whirlwind Empire.”
Kuangchi’s face showed astonishment again. Jing’er noticed and continued, “Originally, my sister was supposed to make this inspection trip. But just before departure, urgent matters came up, so I temporarily took her place to visit Canan Star.”
Kuangchi couldn’t help but ask, “You mean, the real target of the attack was your sister?”
Jing’er nodded. “That, or the data repository itself. It contains many secrets known only to our royal family, like the mother ship. Only the royal archives and my sister’s repository have the full blueprints. Other places manufacturing them only have parts.”
Kuangchi looked at the female city lord beside him. Although Jing’er had revealed so much, the city lord showed no surprise, clearly already knowing Jing’er’s identity.
Jing’er continued, “About humans not accepting the Forgotten Star’s people—I can help. I can ask my sister to designate a suitable planet for the Forgotten Star’s people to relocate.”
Kuangchi nodded. For an Imperial Chief Minister, allocating a planet to resettle some people was no big deal.
He then asked, “Jing’er, if your sister is the Chief Minister, what’s your position? I didn’t expect your Whirlwind Empire to have such high-ranking officials.”
Jing’er smiled and shook her head. “I’m not as smart or capable as my sister. I hold no official position; I just attend banquets and events for her when she’s busy.”
Kuangchi nodded in understanding. It’s common among nobles for siblings close in rank to stand in for each other. Jing’er was also a princess, so it was reasonable.
The female city lord then said, “Mr. Kuang, Jing’er’s sister is willing to help us. We hope you can help as well.”
Kuangchi nodded immediately. “Of course. But Jing’er, after the mother ship self-destructed, could the data repository still exist?”
Jing’er nodded. “At least its core must remain. We forgot it when we left. That core must be retrieved; it contains top secrets of the Whirlwind Empire. With the power reactor blueprints inside, even if Nostalgia City can’t build it soon, someday they will.”
Kuangchi chuckled. “Jing’er, aren’t you afraid I’ll get greedy and harm it for profit?”
Jing’er smiled. “I trust you on this. Despite what others say about you, and based on what I’ve seen these days, you may not be a good person, but you’re not a bad one. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have foolishly rushed into a warship to save people.”
She paused, then said bitterly, “But you are definitely a bad guy.”
Kuangchi didn’t find anything odd in her tone. Recently, Jing’er always spoke like this, which even made the female city lord smile. Jing’er laughed along.
“But even if you get the core, without Whirlwind Empire royal blood, you can’t access the contents,” Jing’er added.
Hearing this, Kuangchi knew which questions to ask and which to avoid.
After understanding everything, Kuangchi saw Anna once more before setting off again toward the Sea of Eternal Ice.
This time Jing’er did not accompany him. Without the life-support escape pod, Kuangchi could only merge with Xiaohua and trek nearly twenty days on foot to reach the Sea of Eternal Ice again.
The site of the previous warship’s self-destruction hadn’t changed much. Kuangchi went straight to the place Jing’er indicated as most likely to hold the data core.
As he stepped into the ruins formed by the explosion, a deep, thunderous shout came from behind.
“Hey, kid up ahead! Stop right there!”
Already on high alert, Kuangchi turned around immediately.
Less than a hundred meters behind him, five men had appeared.
All stood over two meters tall, far taller than normal humans. Their bodies were covered in snow-white long fur, resembling the mutated people of Nostalgia City, but their size was monstrous. Without hearing them speak, Kuangchi would have thought they were humanoid beasts—five walking mountains of flesh.
They rushed swiftly to within several meters of Kuangchi, eyeing him for a long moment before the one in front spoke: “Which city are you from? Why are you here?”
Before Kuangchi could answer, a feminine yet shrill voice sounded from his left.
“Tyrannosaurus Peak is just as fierce as its name. Who they are and where they come from is none of your business. This isn’t your snake pit; why do you care?”
The harsh, piercing voice gave Kuangchi goosebumps.
Curious about these five who called themselves Tyrannosaurus Peak, Kuangchi tilted his head and looked left.
There stood six middle-aged men, wearing only pants. Their height and appearance were similar to normal humans, but their skin was unnaturally white, lacking fur. Their pallor was so extreme that Kuangchi could almost see the red blood flowing beneath. The pale translucence was eerie.
One of the five burly men laughed long and loud, then said, “Didn’t expect the Demon Valley to show up. I wonder if the Qingyan Pavilion has come yet.”
At that moment, a distant, ethereal female voice echoed through the air, “Don’t worry, we’ve arrived long ago.”
