Chapter Sixteen: Peak of the Tyrannosaurus (Part One)

As the words fell, six figures slowly emerged from beyond the distant mountain. The three groups formed a triangular formation, subtly encircling Kuang Chi in the center.

This group of six—four men and two women—appeared outwardly no different from normal humans, though they exuded a certain ethereal grace, as if carried by the wind. Handsome men and beautiful women, their presence in such a place was unexpectedly pleasing to the eye.

All eyes now fixed on Kuang Chi, their gazes sharp enough to seem like they intended to devour him alive.

Finally, the young woman leading the six from Qingyan Pavilion spoke first: “You must be an exile. Are you from the crashed spaceship?”

Kuang Chi lowered his head to examine himself, puzzled as to why everyone immediately recognized him as an exile. His attire alone should not have been enough to reveal his identity.

He nodded straightforwardly, admitting to his status as an exile, then added, “But I am not from that spaceship.”

At this, one of the snow-white creatures spoke: “Then why have you come here? Also, as an exile, which city are you currently in?”

Kuang Chi smiled slightly and replied, “I am presently in Nostalgia City.”

Upon hearing this, the young woman from Qingyan Pavilion involuntarily said, “Your name is Kuang Chi, right? We just received news here in the pavilion about a newly arrived exile in Nostalgia City. It seems to match the information we have perfectly.”

At that moment, someone from Tyrannosaurus Peak suddenly exclaimed, “Your surname is Kuang?”

Kuang Chi did not respond but once again cast his gaze toward the five humanoid monsters from Tyrannosaurus Peak.

Everyone remained silent, simply watching Kuang Chi.

After a long pause, one of the Tyrannosaurus Peak members asked again, “May I ask where you come from?”

Kuang Chi remained silent, pondering for a moment before asking, “I heard that all the direct disciples of Tyrannosaurus Peak bear the surname Kuang. Is that true?”

The leader of the five nodded decisively, “Yes, all direct disciples of Tyrannosaurus Peak bear the surname Kuang.”

Kuang Chi furrowed his brow and finally inquired, “May I ask if you are all from the same family?”

At this, one of the snow-white creatures interjected, “Just by looking at them, you should know they are family. Otherwise, how could ordinary humans develop the physique of a tyrannosaurus?”

The Tyrannosaurus Peak leader retorted coldly, “At least we are still human. Some things can't even be called human.”

Both groups then assumed a posture as if ready to fight. Fortunately, the woman claiming to be from Qingyan Pavilion promptly intervened, “Mr. Kuang Chi, are you here seeking something?”

Kuang Chi said nothing but inwardly felt a surge of tension. Matters concerning the core of the database could not be revealed, yet he could not lie. He had come to Qingyan Pavilion on the Forgotten Star to obtain information, and Jing’er’s arrival would inevitably be known to them soon. Together, they would understand the true purpose of his visit.

He remained silent, only stating to the five large men claiming to be direct disciples of Tyrannosaurus Peak, “I come from the Kuang Battle Star of the Caro Empire.”

Not only did the five from Tyrannosaurus Peak exclaim in surprise, but others nearby also voiced their astonishment.

The five from Tyrannosaurus Peak quickly rushed forward, surrounding Kuang Chi.

At first, Kuang Chi was startled, thinking they intended to attack, but he soon realized they were subtly protecting him within their circle.

The leader of the five then addressed the other two groups, “Everyone, this time you won’t try to snatch this exile from us, right?”

The other two groups said nothing, suggesting frequent disputes over exiles among these three families.

A tense silence fell between both sides. After a long moment, the young woman from Qingyan Pavilion seemed to come to a realization and spoke first, “Since Kuang Chi comes from your own family, Qingyan Pavilion will not compete with you for him.”

However, the opposing side then turned their gaze to the six from Magic Valley.

The leader of Magic Valley sneered, “Our three families’ agreement has no clause saying that if he’s from your family, we cannot snatch him. According to our pact, exiles belong to all three families collectively. Anyone who finds one may claim a share, as long as the exile’s life is unharmed. We have free rein.”

After a few cold snorts, he added, “In the past, your Tyrannosaurus Valley often stole from us at Magic Valley. Why can’t we take from you this time?”

With that, the five behind him assumed fighting stances.

The six from Qingyan Pavilion retreated several dozen meters to a piece of wreckage from a warship, sitting down to watch the impending conflict.

It seemed a fight was inevitable. At a shout from the five of Tyrannosaurus Valley, blood-red long swords suddenly burst forth from their bodies.

Kuang Chi gasped in surprise. The blood-red swords emerging from their bodies should follow the same principle as the war dragons. Yet, the Kuang family always cultivated war dragons, never war blades.

Nonetheless, Kuang Chi was curious about this method of sword cultivation. Anyone capable of transforming the war dragons of the Kuang Dragon Art into long swords was undoubtedly a genius—a super genius among geniuses. The ancient Kuang Dragon Art passed down was not something easily altered.

Once the five wielded their long swords, they formed a protective formation—three in front, two behind—shielding Kuang Chi at the rear. They hadn’t even confirmed whether Kuang Chi was truly from the Kuang family before treating him as one of their own.

Kuang Chi paid little mind to the six from Magic Valley. Though their cultivation levels were undoubtedly high—otherwise they could not survive openly on the Forgotten Star’s surface—he did not regard them as a serious threat.

Seeing the two sides about to clash, Kuang Chi shouted loudly, “Damn it! Everyone stop!”

Not only did the Magic Valley members glare at him, but the five humanoid tyrannosaurs from Tyrannosaurus Peak also turned to glare fiercely.

Ignoring them, Kuang Chi shouted at the Magic Valley six, “What do you take me for? Do you think you can do whatever you want? You’re seriously underestimating me.”

With that, a long whip appeared in his hand. Kuang Chi grinned fiercely at the Magic Valley six. His expression was not intimidating but somewhat comical.

He strode to the front of the five from Tyrannosaurus Valley.

Before the Magic Valley six could respond, one of the five behind Kuang Chi suddenly said, “Strange—didn’t the clan records say that the true Kuang family cultivates war dragons? Why does he use a long whip?”

Another chimed in, “Third brother, is he deceiving us?”

Kuang Chi couldn’t help but smile inwardly; their straightforwardness was quite amusing.

The third brother, presumably the leader of Tyrannosaurus Valley, replied, “No, don’t you sense his aura is very similar to ours?”

Kuang Chi was well aware of this. Those who practiced the Kuang Dragon Art seemed to share a mysterious connection. Those with strong sensitivity could accurately detect others cultivating the Kuang Dragon Art within thousands of meters.

He smiled and summoned his war dragon, so the seemingly clumsy fellows from Tyrannosaurus Peak wouldn’t waste time guessing.

When Kuang Chi’s war dragon appeared, the gathered from Tyrannosaurus Peak gasped in surprise and once again surrounded him.

The one called third brother waved his long sword and said, “You effeminate types better wise up and leave. Otherwise, prepare for a war between Tyrannosaurus Peak and Magic Valley.”

Before Magic Valley could react, the woman from Qingyan Pavilion intervened, “Mr. Kuang Chi has summoned an authentic Kuang family war dragon. He truly is a legitimate member of the Kuang family from Tyrannosaurus Peak. Magic Valley, let’s not disturb their reunion here. Surely you have other matters to attend to.”

Hearing this, the Magic Valley members snorted in anger, glanced at Kuang Chi, then turned without another word and left.

The Qingyan Pavilion group also bowed respectfully from afar before turning to leave.

Only then did the five from Tyrannosaurus Peak turn to Kuang Chi. Their leader directly asked, “Which hall do you come from?”

Kuang Chi smiled and countered, “And which hall do you belong to?”

The leader pondered for a moment, observing Kuang Chi carefully before answering, “Tyrannosaurus Peak is currently composed of disciples from five halls. We five belong to the Qingzi Hall. And you?”

Kuang Chi thought for a moment. Qingzi Hall was known to him, ranking only in the middle-lower tier among the Kuang family’s thirty-six halls.

The direct descendants of the Kuang family were part of the Zongzi Sect, signifying they were the legitimate and orthodox heirs of the Kuang lineage.

Snapping back to reality, Kuang Chi said, “I come from the Zongzi Hall.”

The five exclaimed again. Since they themselves were Kuang family members, they naturally understood the significance of the sect divisions. They knew very well what the Zongzi Hall represented.

Upon hearing Kuang Chi was from Zongzi Hall, the five immediately saluted him.

Kuang Chi quickly returned the salute, then sighed deeply, “It’s rare that you have not forgotten the Kuang family.”

Their leader laughed heartily and said, “How could we forget our roots? For us exiles and descendants on the Forgotten Star, even the most ordinary civilians firmly remember their origins and pass them down through generations. We are no different. Tyrannosaurus Peak even holds a grand ancestral ceremony every ten years.”

Kuang Chi sighed again, then suddenly asked, “Have you ever thought about returning to the Kuang Battle Star?”

Upon hearing this, the five nodded vigorously. One even said outright, “Of course we have—every night in our dreams.”
