Chapter Two: Twin-Winged Savage Bear (Part 2)

After finishing his words, Ah San turned to Kuang Chi and said, “Young Master, now that we also have Divine Martial Beasts, can we be allowed out to take a look?”

Kuang Chi raised an eyebrow upon hearing this and replied somewhat displeased, “You just got Divine Martial Beasts. Do you really think your beasts are ready for battle? You can’t even wait a few days.”

At Kuang Chi’s anger, all the members of Tyrannosaurus Peak fell silent and fixed their gaze on Duke Yeluo beside them.

Duke Yeluo had no choice but to clear his throat a few times before saying, “Young Master Kuang Chi, their situation is different from ours. Though it’s likely their Divine Martial Beasts are still in the juvenile stage, I believe even juvenile beasts of that level can absolutely participate in combat.”

Kuang Chi glanced at Duke Yeluo and then finally said to Ah San, “You have a Divine Martial Beast, don’t you? Summon it so I can see.”

Ah San nodded happily and quickly turned around. Everyone behind him hurriedly made space. A flash of white light appeared, followed by a deafening roar that echoed like thunder within the ship’s cabin.

A giant bear, about four or five meters tall and covered in snowy white long fur, appeared inside. Its blood-red eyes fixed directly on Kuang Chi, causing him to tense involuntarily. The bear’s gaze felt as solid as a tangible force, radiating overwhelming pressure.

Steadying himself, Kuang Chi looked to the bear’s back. To his surprise, the bear bore two broad, blood-red fleshy wings large enough to wrap around its entire body. Seeing Kuang Chi’s eyes on its wings, the bear smartly spread them wide, stretching its total length to nearly ten meters.

Kuang Chi did not scrutinize further and quietly said to Ah San, “Recall it.”

The giant bear dissolved into a beam of light and merged back into Ah San’s body. Ah San grinned and said, “Young Master, do you think this Divine Martial Beast is good enough to smash people?”

Kuang Chi shot Ah San a sharp glare and then turned to Duke Yeluo. “Your Grace, please expedite their identity papers. After that, let them do as they please. If there’s any place where they can be useful, send them there to help. They’re idle anyway, so find something for them to do.”

Duke Yeluo’s expression remained neutral at first, but upon hearing Kuang Chi’s last words, his face lit up with excitement. He quickly thanked Kuang Chi and smiled, “Young Master Kuang Chi, rest assured, I will take care of their identities.”

Hearing that Kuang Chi finally agreed to let them out, Ah San and the others all smiled foolishly, moving about with excitement.

After a while, Ah San came to his senses and asked, “Young Master, can we go out now?”

As Kuang Chi, Jing’er, and the others walked out, Kuang Chi said, “Once your identity papers are done, you can go. Without money, you can’t leave. But remember one thing: you can’t lose in a fight. Also, keep an eye on this flying ship. If anyone sneaks in again, I’ll hold you responsible.”

On the airship returning to the hotel, Jing’er spoke with concern, “Fatty, it’s not good to say it like that. Won’t those guys turn all of Greenleaf Star upside down?”

Kuang Chi glanced at Jing’er, then at the somewhat displeased Duke Yeluo, and said, “If they want to freely operate on Greenleaf Star in the future, they must first make the humans here accept them. And how to make them accept? Isn’t the best way through fists?”

Hearing this, Duke Yeluo’s expression softened, but he continued, “Young Master Kuang Chi, though that’s true, could you restrain them a bit? You may not fully understand the people at Tyrannosaurus Peak—they’re notoriously unreasonable on the Forgotten Star. If you leave them unchecked, they won’t be controllable by ordinary people. I doubt Greenleaf Star could remain unturned.”

Kuang Chi smiled and said, “Your Grace, are you worried about the losses to Greenleaf Star?”

Before Duke Yeluo could reply, Kuang Chi added, “Let them cause some commotion here for a few days. As for any losses to Greenleaf Star, didn’t I say earlier that if you need them somewhere, just send them? The Kuang family has always believed that fists are the ultimate truth. If there’s any damage, find a way to recover it from them.”

Duke Yeluo laughed again and, after a moment’s thought, said, “Young Master Kuang Chi, don’t laugh at me, but there are indeed some organizations on Greenleaf Star that have troubled me greatly. I’d love to have them help drive them out. But doing so might bring considerable trouble to your Kuang family.”

Kuang Chi looked at Jing’er, who seemed dumbfounded, and smiled, “Who said they’re still connected to the Kuang family? They’re just a bunch of future space pirates. Though they share the Kuang name, our family will never publicly acknowledge that Tyrannosaurus Peak is a branch of our Kuang family.”

Jing’er couldn’t help but chuckle and teased, “Fatty, you’re craftier than a ghost these days.”

Then she turned to Duke Yeluo and said teasingly, “Uncle, didn’t you used to say that the Kuang family’s young master only has brute strength? Look at him now—he’s like a sly fox. It doesn’t matter if the Kuang family doesn’t admit it; they’re a branch of the family anyway. Even if they don’t admit it, they are. Besides, they now completely obey this fat fox.”

Turning back to Kuang Chi, she asked, “Fatty, aren’t you being too cunning?”

Kuang Chi frowned at Jing’er calling him a fat fox and said, “How am I cunning? Which family doesn’t have backup forces nowadays?”

Then he looked at Duke Yeluo and said, “Your Grace, do you think I’m right or not? As far as I know, you used to be the head of the Yeluo family. Doesn’t your family have branches like this?”

Duke Yeluo exchanged a curious glance with Jing’er before chuckling, “I certainly don’t deny that. For a historically long-standing family, the temporary rise and fall of the family is just a fleeting moment. The real consideration is the strength and future of the family. For the family’s continuation, the Yeluo family has secretly established several branches outside that we neither acknowledge nor publicize.”

He chuckled awkwardly at Jing’er before continuing, “Just like now, if some event or decision causes upheaval in the family, at least these reserves ensure our family’s survival in the galaxy. Perhaps even a chance to make a comeback.”

Jing’er pondered deeply for a moment, then asked Kuang Chi, “Fatty, how many such preparations does your Kuang family have? Do all families in the universe have such plans?”

Kuang Chi shook his head, “I only know that all the major human families are doing this now. As for how many preparations the Kuang family has, I’m not sure. I’m still just the heir. Even the current family head might not know everything. At least, I know many of the family’s affairs are handled by the Kuang Martial Hall, especially major matters concerning the family’s continuation.”

Suddenly, Duke Yeluo spoke up, “Jing’er, it’s not just the noble families. Even your royal family has such preparations.”

He glanced at Kuang Chi and continued, “This time in the Forgotten Star, I accidentally uncovered a staggering secret. Do you know the origin of the Kakku Principality in the Galactic Federation?”

Kuang Chi had never heard of the Kakku Principality, so he looked at Jing’er. Jing’er thought for a moment and said, “The Kakku Principality is supposedly the largest mech production site in the Galactic Federation. It joined the Federation over ten thousand years ago, becoming one of the Federation’s top ten principalities. It was once prosperous tens of thousands of years ago. Most of the current Federation-controlled star regions belonged to the Kakku Empire back then. But with the rapid development of personal combat power and mechs becoming obsolete due to insufficient fighting strength, the Kakku Empire declined.”

Duke Yeluo smiled and suddenly turned to Kuang Chi, “If I told you the Kakku Principality and the current Karlo Empire’s royal family share the same bloodline, would you believe me?”

Kuang Chi and Jing’er were both stunned. After a moment, Jing’er spoke first, “Uncle, that can’t be true.”

Duke Yeluo smiled coldly, “Why not? Many families were once royal houses of former nations. One of the Karlo Empire’s ancestors was clever enough to secretly split two branches of descendants into two distant countries.”

Jing’er suddenly asked, “Uncle, what about our family? What did we do?”

Duke Yeluo shook his head with a smile, “That I can’t say, and I don’t know much anyway. These are top secrets of each family. I’m only telling you this to share some secrets of the human upper class—and so you’ll be a bit more careful when you rob. Being a pirate isn’t that easy.”

He made a strange expression at Kuang Chi and added, “Especially you, Young Master Kuang Chi. Your family’s history is older than most royal families now. Be careful not to steal your own family’s property.”

Kuang Chi was stunned again, then looked at Jing’er, who was happily laughing beside him, and said, “If you keep laughing, I won’t be your pirate partner anymore.”

Jing’er quickly said, “Then let’s stop robbing merchant ships and start robbing pirates instead.”
