No matter what, seeing the "Clown" Mo Fei again still brought a strong sense of familiarity. At least now, if Da Fei dared to make a move, he had the means to detonate the white phosphorus spray in his hand and take those bastards down with him!

He was capable of doing it!

Anything was possible!

Mo Fei’s eyes suddenly turned fierce. “Brother Fei, either you open the door and let my friends leave, or we’ll have to die together with you.”

“What?” Ma He blurted out dumbfounded.

Zhong Yan nudged him sharply on the elbow. “Shut up!”

Da Fei’s expression wasn’t any better. “That’s unnecessary. I just want to talk to you. You want me dead, huh?”

“You know very well you’re not here just to chat,” Mo Fei’s anger grew, his grip tightening on the small spray can. “This contains white phosphorus. You don’t want a white phosphorus grenade to explode inside your shop, do you?”

If this was said to people from peaceful areas who lacked knowledge, they might have replied, “Go ahead and blow it up. It’s just a small can; who are you trying to scare?”

But Da Fei clearly knew the fearsome reputation of white phosphorus grenades.

White phosphorus munitions had been condemned worldwide for their devastating lethality.

As an incendiary weapon primarily using white phosphorus, it ignited immediately upon contact with oxygen, burning at temperatures exceeding 1000 degrees Celsius—enough to annihilate all life within its effective range.

Moreover, once white phosphorus touched skin, it was extremely difficult to remove quickly. The high temperature would burn through soft tissue down to the bone, causing cruel and excruciating injuries.

If Mo Fei really detonated white phosphorus in a confined space, survival would be out of the question. Whether anyone could even be identified afterward was doubtful.

The entire bar would be reduced to ashes!

“You’d really do that?” Da Fei stared at Mo Fei’s face, searching for any hint of fear or hesitation.

There was none.

Mo Fei even smiled, eyes gleaming with reckless daring. “Want to find out?”

He leapt forward, holding up the spray can, causing the henchmen to instinctively step back.

“Ha!” Mo Fei grinned broadly. “So? Want to join us?”

This time, Da Fei was caught off guard by Mo Fei.

Backing down in front of all these men would be a huge loss of face.

But facing such a madman, it wasn’t an easy choice either.

He was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

“Brother Fei, forget it,” muttered a leather-jacketed henchman who had held a fire extinguisher earlier. “This guy’s crazy. Don’t mess with him.”

“Am I that easy to mess with?” Da Fei glanced at the groaning thug lying on the floor, fully aware that the can in Mo Fei’s hand was definitely white phosphorus.

If it exploded, it would be a mutual destruction scenario.

The problem was, for some reason, he actually believed this guy would do it.

The other henchmen were human too; none wanted to die. They looked to Da Fei with clear expressions: “Boss, call it off.”

It was a sharp predicament.

Da Fei was beginning to reconsider.

Should he gamble on Mo Fei’s nerve not to detonate?

He really couldn’t afford to lose—life was the most important.

As Da Fei pondered how to speak, a loud bang suddenly echoed from the bar’s entrance.

Everyone turned to look and saw a figure standing at the door wielding a massive hammer.

Only Mo Fei didn’t glance back; he kept his eyes fixed on Da Fei.

Ji Xingyu frowned slightly and quietly told Mo Fei, “That’s the guy who ate at your place.”

Hearing this, Mo Fei felt slightly relieved.

Long Er had arrived.

Long Er dragged the hammer into the bar, stood beside Mo Fei, and tossed it aside. “Long time no see.”

Da Fei forced a smile. “Brother Long, my door wasn’t locked.”

“Was it?” Long Er showed no emotion. “I didn’t notice.”

He turned to Mo Fei. “Does it work well?”

As he entered, he saw the unlucky fellow covered in powder still burning on the floor.

“Is that a matter of whether it works or not?” Mo Fei frowned, thinking for a moment, then chuckled. “But it does work.”

Da Fei’s gaze darkened. His voice lowered. “Brother Long, you know this guy and still let him come over?”

“I let him come to meet you,” Long Er replied coldly. “Got a problem with that?”

Da Fei’s mouth twitched before replacing it with a broad smile. “No problem at all. Since he’s Brother Long’s friend, he’s my friend too. What problem could there be?”

“Want to have lunch together?”

“No need. I’m in a hurry to pick someone up.” Long Er gave Mo Fei a meaningful look.

Mo Fei caught on and signaled the three golden nuggets who had accidentally come here to leave quickly.

Ji Xingyu and the others had long sensed this place was no longer safe and hurriedly gathered their bags to depart.

“Brother Long,” Da Fei stood and walked to Long Er, smiling and extending his hand, “It’s been so long. Meeting you for the first time and you introduce me to this new friend of yours. That’s real friendship.”

Long Er let his arms hang by his sides, not offering his hand. “He’s already been polite to you.”

Mo Fei pointed at himself. “I... polite?”

“I know,” Da Fei sneered coldly. “He didn’t blow up my shop with white phosphorus outright—that’s politeness.”

Mo Fei looked at the little can in his hand and tentatively raised it. “Should I detonate one now?”

At that moment, Long Er and Da Fei both turned their eyes to him, speechless.

Not only Da Fei, who barely knew him, but even Long Er, who had spent days with Mo Fei, couldn’t figure out what he was thinking.

Before coming here, he was quite reasonable and rational. How had he ended up like this?

Long Er shot Da Fei a suspicious glance. “What did you do to him?”

Da Fei: ???

He almost visualized the question marks on his own head.

What had he done to Mo Fei? He hadn’t even had time to do anything!

Besides, he was ready to give up on targeting Mo Fei and switch to someone else. Mo Fei was the one who came over, after all.

Where did Long Er learn to turn the tables like that?

“Brother Long, I think you’ve got it backwards,” Da Fei said angrily but kept his smile. “I was just inviting some new friends to hang out. Mo Fei forced his way over and tried to take people away.”

Long Er nodded. “Then what?”

Da Fei was beside himself.

What else was there to say?

“Then he made a move!” Da Fei took a deep breath and calmed himself. “Now your friend is unharmed. How about we call it quits here?”

If this escalated, it would do him no favors. This long-established base might even be lost, which wasn’t worth it.

Long Er had no intention of truly falling out with him. After a few seconds, he replied, “Fine.”

With that said, Da Fei finally relaxed.

Taking a small loss now meant he could make up for it later.

If the base was destroyed, that would be a serious blow.

“Let’s go.”

Under the watchful eyes of Da Fei and his henchmen, Long Er and Mo Fei backed out of the bar.
