Chapter Thirty-Two: Call Me Husband

“What’s going on?” Huang Yunshuo was momentarily taken aback. That wretched little rabbit hadn’t even touched him from start to finish—so how had he lost health? He quickly checked the battle log.

“Little Rabbit (Green) activates passive skill: Toxin. You lose 1 health per second for 10 seconds.”

“Damn it!” Huang Yunshuo’s face turned green.

So that’s why there were so many differently colored rabbits in this valley—clearly, it was a trap. The green rabbit inflicts poison; could the yellow one be for slowing? And the red one—burn damage, perhaps?

He selected a yellow rabbit nearby, struck it with a combo and finished it off with another sword, then checked the battle log.

“Little Rabbit (Yellow) activates passive skill: Sluggishness. Your attack speed decreases by 10% for 10 seconds.”

The yellow rabbit wasn’t much trouble for him. Thanks to his overwhelming agility, it didn’t matter if his speed dropped by ten or even more; he could still get in two strikes before the rabbit could react. Such was the fate of low-agility creatures facing high-agility players.

Huang Yunshuo tried out each color of rabbit in the valley.

“Little Rabbit (Red) activates passive skill: Hot Toxin. You cannot recover health for 10 seconds.”

“Little Rabbit (Purple) activates passive skill: Frailty. Your chance of receiving a critical hit increases by 10% for 10 seconds.”

“Little Rabbit (Blue) activates passive skill: Steal. Your magic decreases by 10 for 10 seconds and is converted to the rabbit’s health.”

So there were five colors in total, each with a different passive skill and each presenting its own headache.

Of the five—green, yellow, red, purple, and blue—the most troublesome was certainly the purple, which increased critical hit chance.

Green’s poison, losing 10 health over time, was manageable; anyone tackling level-3 rabbits would have more than 50 or 60 health anyway. Yellow’s slow mainly affected attack order; players with low agility would be hard-pressed to strike before the rabbits. Red’s hot toxin was the least useful debuff: players would be in teams, and if their health got low, they’d simply rotate out—hot toxin or not, this was already a common monster-hunting strategy.

Blue’s steal wasn’t much of a loss; magic wasn’t particularly useful in the beginner village, so let the rabbits take it. The only annoyance was that blue rabbits’ health would jump from 80 to 90.

But that purple increase to critical hit chance—that was truly terrifying. A critical hit did double the normal damage. With most players’ weak defenses, even a regular hit was painful; a crit could be fatal. That extra 10% meant life or death in an instant.

“This leveling area just got interesting.” Huang Yunshuo laughed aloud, already picturing the hills swarming with players chasing after rabbits of every color.

After killing a few rabbits, Huang Yunshuo received a message from Morning Dew and Frost. He sent her his coordinates, and before long, she came running over, her long legs carrying her swiftly.

“Those legs are too long,” Huang Yunshuo muttered, covering his nose to stop a nosebleed.

The image of those snowy, slender legs striding and crossing kept replaying in his mind, and her shapely curves quivered lightly with each step as she ran. Watching her approach from the distance, Huang Yunshuo let out a long breath, reminding himself to stay calm and not let his desires get the better of him.

Morning Dew and Frost glanced at the newly equipped Huang Yunshuo and could tell his strength had increased yet again.

“What’s your name?” she asked. There was no way she could keep calling him “Idiot”—even if he could tolerate it, she couldn’t; she truly disliked that name.

Huang Yunshuo replied with a mischievous grin, “It’s Idiot.”

“Be serious,” she said with a slight frown. Her traditional upbringing made her less accepting of such joking.

“Then just call me hubby!” Huang Yunshuo burst out laughing, though he began to fake a laugh when he saw her expression darken.

“Let’s focus on leveling up. I still have two more people to help!”

He was eager to get to the grand arena to slaughter some fools and didn’t want to waste time. He briefly explained the special characteristics of the level-3 rabbits.

“Then we’ll avoid the green and blue ones—the other three don’t have much effect,” Morning Dew and Frost concluded.

She had just acquired a white glove, and Huang Yunshuo noticed her arrow fire rate had clearly increased—a boost to attack speed. For an archer who relied entirely on ranged suppression, it was a superb piece of equipment.

Morning Dew and Frost’s luck was holding.

With his attack at over thirty and hers a little over twenty, and since the rabbits had no defense like the stone turtles before, they were easy prey.

She would shoot first; he’d dash in and finish the rabbit with two strikes—no need to linger.

Every time they cleared out all the red, yellow, and purple rabbits from an area, they’d quickly collect loot and move on to keep leveling.

For Huang Yunshuo, hunting level-3 rabbits only yielded a third of the experience points, but Morning Dew and Frost leveled up rapidly. In just ten minutes of this efficient slaughter, she reached level ten.

“I’m off to complete the leaving-the-village quest. Let’s team up again if we get the chance.”

She hurried toward the village, just as Su Honest and Su Cannon, whom Huang Yunshuo had summoned in advance, arrived.

“That woman was Morning Dew and Frost? Her legs are insanely long,” Su Honest said, staring after her as she disappeared into the distance, dazed.

“Don’t mind him; he’s a pervert. All the assistant maids at home have been ruined by him,” Su Cannon said coldly to Huang Yunshuo.

“Damn,” Huang Yunshuo’s impression of Su Honest plummeted. Was this what life was like for the rich on the mother ship—no war, just endless pleasure?

“Enough talk—let’s level up.”

Shaking his head, Huang Yunshuo spent forty minutes getting both of them from level six to level ten.

“Go do the leaving-the-village quest now. If you can’t complete it, come find me,” he said.

He glanced at the time—one hour left before logout. Finally, he could head to the grand arena!

“Alright, master, see you around!”

The two merchants ran off toward the edge of the grassland, while Huang Yunshuo strolled behind, checking his gains.

In the disaster-level dungeon, he’d earned 3,400 copper coins in one go. Then, after helping three people reach level ten and spending nearly fifty minutes killing rabbits, most of the loot ended up in his backpack, minus what he’d split with Morning Dew and Frost.

He now had a total of 4,685 copper coins, which felt almost unreal.

“It seems the redemption in the beginner village is a bit game-breaking,” he mused.

Everyone had been dirt-poor, and suddenly there was a dungeon that could generate a flood of copper coins. Even if you only cleared the easy mode three times—and though regular players couldn’t instantly kill bosses to maximize coin drops—you’d still get close to a hundred coins.

Split among three, each would walk away with thirty, and with just ten coins, you could buy a feather duster for +5 PvE attack. Not bad at all.

With this, the overall copper coin output of the server was exploding. True, players desperate for coins would never trade them lightly, but those advanced players who already had enough for themselves would definitely use them for trading, which would impact the market to some extent.
