Chapter Thirty-Six: The Subtlety Within the Wind
The title read: "Peerless Female Warlord! Night after night, Flowing Radiance as Pure as Moonlight Slays the Battlefield, the Tang Dynasty Mist Guild is Slaughtered Without Mercy!"
Huang Yunshuo’s heart gave a jolt—wasn’t this the player who topped the White Leaderboard with the highest bloodthirst value?
He immediately clicked the link.
It was a short video, around two minutes long.
A long-haired woman, draped in a black robe and wielding a long spear, was engaged in combat with a group of people. Her legs were astonishingly slender and long, her waist taut and powerful, and her chest so full it seemed ready to burst through her clothes.
Each of her attacks possessed a striking beauty, yet radiated overwhelming strength.
She moved with shifting steps, her dark hair flying, her actions appearing fluid but, in truth, every assault was preceded by a brief pause—after which her spear would strike her opponent with lightning speed.
“A classic high-strength, high-agility dueling style. She’s probably mastered some sort of movement technique as well…” Huang Yunshuo analyzed, but what puzzled him was that with such ability, why would Flowing Radiance as Pure as Moonlight still linger in the novice village?
Seeing the dozens of players writhing in agony at her feet, a sudden realization dawned on him—could it be she had stayed behind just to hunt down others?
He quickly opened the Bloodthirst Leaderboard.
As expected, the top name had changed.
Flowing Radiance as Pure as Moonlight: 193 kills on the White Leaderboard, 542 on the Black.
Damn.
Sweat poured down his back in a sudden waterfall, leaving Huang Yunshuo speechless.
This Tang Dynasty Mist guild was truly cursed—they had just delivered over a hundred easy White Leaderboard kills to Flowing Radiance as Pure as Moonlight, infuriating her so much that she camped their players and pushed her Black Leaderboard tally from 50 to 542.
Even if there were a hundred level 5+ Tang Dynasty Mist players in this village, that meant each had been killed an average of seven times!
Though dying in the novice village didn’t cost you levels or experience, your gear could still drop, and it genuinely hurt!
Those poor souls were suffering indeed.
"Disaster Raid's First Clear: The Brainless Overlord Dazzles with Skill, Annihilates Level 10 Fools in the Grand Arena!"
“Is that about me?”
A surge of pride welled in Huang Yunshuo’s chest, his heart beating faster in excitement. He blissfully clicked the link.
There was no video, just a written account with pictures, accurately recounting his first flag capture.
Four minutes spent quietly hiding in the corner, playing invisible, only to erupt in a thunderous killing spree in the final minute…
Perhaps, this was what it truly meant to be a man!
Looking at the flood of shocked, admiring, and enthusiastic comments below, he felt as though he were floating on air, his pride swelling once more.
"Ice River Hall Celebrity List #143, Mysterious Wind Opens Live Channel 10 Minutes Ago, Popularity Soars Past 100 Million in 5 Minutes, 8,000 Nobles Show What True Prestige Means!"
Huang Yunshuo opened the Galaxy Live app, found Mysterious Wind’s channel, and was instantly blinded by the endless cascade of gift effects.
“Damn!”
He squinted instinctively, watching the airplane and rocket gift animations repeat every second. He couldn’t help but marvel—top streamers really were on another level. While he had to scheme for gifts, these stars just sat there as their fans showered them with riches.
He glanced at the viewer count—183 million. Nearly two hundred million people were watching the stream at that very moment!
The daily gift leaderboard displayed the top 100 contributors, and the hundredth had already spent over a million Galaxy Coins.
That meant just those hundred viewers alone had given at least ten million credits to Mysterious Wind! Even if he hadn’t signed a contract yet—which was highly unlikely—he’d still get forty percent, that was four million credits!
Four million! How…
“Wait, is four million really that much? I made about 3.7 million credits today myself,” Huang Yunshuo muttered, curling his lip. Not such a big deal after all!
In the future, his drz02825 would easily crush this so-called Mysterious Wind. Not to mention, that player’s ID was so ordinary—nowhere near as classy, sharp, or relatable as his own.
“Where are you? I’ll come find you!”
Morning Dew, Light Frost sent a voice message. Her cold yet melodious tone made Huang Yunshuo close his eyes in contentment.
“Wait for me somewhere quiet behind the village. I’m still outside right now,” he replied.
He quickened his steps, weaving through the crowd, and finally found Morning Dew, Light Frost waiting expectantly under the mulberry tree behind the village chief’s house.
“Cloud-Strider Boots!”
Morning Dew, Light Frost opened the trade window, placed a piece of equipment inside, and then set a transfer of one million credits.
“Wow, I can use these!” Huang Yunshuo couldn’t stop grinning. Morning Dew, Light Frost truly had remarkable luck—any random gear she acquired seemed to be just what he needed to complete his Cloud-Strider set.
Cloud-Strider Boots (White), Level 10
Agility: +6
Movement Speed: +2%
Superb!
Replacing his old harasser boots, which only gave +3 agility, Huang Yunshuo’s agility rose to 56. Most importantly, his movement speed bonus increased from 9% to 11%!
Even with average human agility, his movement speed would still be 10% faster than others!
That 11% boost came from the Chick Cloak’s 2%, the Adventure Badge’s 2%, the Cloud-Strider White Robe’s 5%, and the Cloud-Strider Boots’ 2%.
Simply delightful.
After confirming the trade, Morning Dew, Light Frost fondly examined the Outcloud Mask for a moment before donning it herself.
The seemingly ordinary mask transformed automatically into an exquisite silver mask, loose enough to cover her face, nose, and part of her forehead, leaving only her eyes, lips, and chin exposed—a work of art, both delicate and beautiful.
“It boosts stats and hides your face—what’s not to love?” Huang Yunshuo said with envy.
Morning Dew, Light Frost smiled. “It does. By the way, you have so many spare copper coins. Would you sell them to me? Two hundred credits each.”
Two hundred credits per coin was already a premium. Morning Dew, Light Frost was generous, and Huang Yunshuo was truly tempted by the deal.
“Sigh, better not,” he finally shook his head. “I only have 1,985 copper coins left. I still need them for my stream event at midday. Can’t sell them.”
Selling those 1,985 coins to Morning Dew, Light Frost would net him nearly 400,000 credits. Clutching his chest, Huang Yunshuo felt a pang of regret so sharp it was hard to breathe.
“Are you a streamer? What’s your channel number?” she asked.
Morning Dew, Light Frost was a person who distinguished clearly between gratitude and grievance. Outwardly, it seemed her accounts with Huang Yunshuo were settled, but she knew full well that what she’d gained in their short acquaintance was worth far more than two million credits.
“Just search my name,” Huang Yunshuo replied, clearing his throat.
“I’m off to continue the out-of-village quests.” Morning Dew, Light Frost turned and left. Huang Yunshuo removed his headset and logged off.
He headed to the training room on the spaceship’s first floor, opened his locker, and changed into shorts and a black tank top.
After about ten minutes of warm-up and a bit of light exercise on the machines outside, he entered the inner gravity chamber.
Click.
He set the gravity to 1x.
A slight heaviness settled over him. His limbs were stiff for a few seconds before he adapted and began running and jumping around the chamber.
Click.
Gravity increased to 2x.
Weighed down once more, he took a few running steps and executed two rolls on the ground.
Five minutes later, the gravity reached 5x.
“Whew, after playing games for so long, my body really is a bit stiff.”
He exhaled quietly, braced his hands on the floor, and began doing push-ups at a rapid pace.
