"Dad!" Cai Yao looked at the middle-aged man and called out with a frown.

Chu Lin immediately understood—today, Miss Cai was using him as a human shield against her father.

Cai Da watched his daughter being walked out of the elevator with a man's arm around her waist, and his face sank darkly. "Cai Yao, you rejected Ma Zhen for this pretty boy? How can you be so foolish? Don't you know what kind of family background Ma Zhen has?"

Cai Yao hadn't expected her father's very first words to be exactly that.

That last line seemed to come straight from the young lady's heart, carrying a loathing anyone could hear.

Chu Lin, however, instinctively felt a chill in a certain region down below and hastily snatched his hand back from Miss Cai's waist.

Though she wasn't talking about him, why did he feel this inexplicable sympathy pain?

For the sake of his future happiness, he immediately cowed. Miss Cai was indeed a woman he could never handle.

Cai Da, hearing his daughter's words, looked even more furious: "Cai Yao, our Cai family is at least a wealthy household. How did we raise a daughter with such poor judgment?"

Cai Yao had finally had enough. "Dad, what nonsense are you spouting? Have you really gotten so wrapped up in playing around with your secretary that you've stopped personally checking on the company's affairs? Or are you so blindly doting on Cai Sen that you believe every word he says?"
