Volume One, Chapter One Hundred Eleven: Eleven
The quarrel at the food pickup point grew louder and more intense. After swiftly finishing their late-night meal, Mo De and Su Ziwen walked over together to find Ivanoti and Yu Jiuchuan, who had arrived early to join the commotion.
Once reunited, classmate Xiao Feng explained the origin of the dispute to the two of them.
This time, the Yida Administrative Committee hadn't booked the entire hotel exclusively, so there were still many other guests in the restaurant. Naturally, those staying at the "Pingtian Restaurant" were not ordinary people.
Among these distinguished guests, one had gotten into a quarrel with a member of the winter camp teaching team.
The two seemed to have started arguing over a minor issue while queuing, and the dispute escalated with tempers flaring. Both sides’ companions struggled to restrain their own.
Upon hearing the news, the hotel manager hurried over to mediate and calm the situation, successfully preventing the two from coming to blows.
The hot-tempered, tall man among the teachers was named Tu Tian. He glanced coldly at the crowd gathered around to watch, snorted, and turned away.
"Why did the Yida Administrative Committee choose such a guy to be a teacher?"
"Exactly..."
"Wow, his gaze is so fierce..."
After the man left the restaurant, the students began whispering among themselves.
At that moment, a young female teacher hurriedly arrived from outside the hall, followed by a middle-aged woman dressed in blue.
"Sorry, our people just caused you some trouble..."
The middle-aged woman, having already learned the details from her companion, went to apologize to the guest involved in the conflict and took care of the aftermath.
"This is Ms. Chu Fengyi, the leader of our North China winter camp," Xuanyuan Kong suddenly appeared beside Mo De and the others, gently introducing several members of the teaching team present.
"The one who caused the earlier dispute is named Tu Tian. Though he has a fiery temper, his strength is formidable—he’s considered one of the top teachers in the whole group."
What? One of the top? Could that volatile powder keg be as formidable as Mu Qing?
"Brother Xuanyuan, what level is this Tu Tian at?" Mo De asked curiously.
Tu Tian, still young, had already reached mid-Huawai (Outer Realm), and judging by the turbulent aura around him, he seemed to have touched the bottleneck of the late stage. As far as I know, only Ms. Chu here can somewhat suppress him," Xuanyuan Kong whispered to Mo De, glancing at the woman in blue, Chu Fengyi.
Oh, so he’s just mid-Huawai.
Mo De rubbed his nose, suddenly feeling his earlier boasting had been a bit too much...
However, this Tu Tian seemed older than Chen Luoluo, whom he had met before.
The blue-clad figure approached Mo De, and Xuanyuan Kong tugged Mo De’s sleeve, signaling him to greet her politely.
"Good evening, Teacher Chu."
Chu Fengyi nodded with a smile. "It’s nothing. You all continue your conversation; I need to talk to that little one."
Mo De saw the woman in blue point behind him and beckon to Ivanoti, who was sitting beside Yu Jiuchuan watching the spectacle.
"Ivanoti Feng, could you come over for a moment? The teacher wants to talk to you," Chu Fengyi said with a smile.
Classmate Xiao Feng grew nervous upon being called by name.
Chu Fengyi bent down to whisper a few words to Ivanoti, who immediately jumped down from the chair, greeted Yu Jiuchuan and the others, then followed Chu Fengyi out.
"Unexpectedly, that special invitee is connected to Ms. Chu," Xuanyuan Kong muttered, watching the two disappear through the restaurant’s entrance.
"Ms. Chu is a standing committee member of the Yida Administrative Committee. She came along specifically to ensure that this inaugural winter camp runs smoothly. If she had been present earlier, Tu Tian wouldn’t have bothered with such trivial matters as queue order," Xuanyuan Kong explained.
Learning of Chu Fengyi’s distinguished status, Mo De felt somewhat worried about his junior sister. He wondered what exactly Ms. Chu wanted to discuss with Xiao Feng.
"Don’t worry. With Ms. Chu looking after her, your junior sister’s safety is even more assured than ours," Xuanyuan Kong reassured him with a smile, patting Mo De on the shoulder.
...
Chu Fengyi led Ivanoti to the top floor of the Pingtian Hotel. At the farthest end, they stopped at the door of a private room made of expensive redwood and gently knocked.
The door opened automatically, and a man’s voice came from inside.
"Come in."
Hearing the voice, Ivanoti walked straight into the room, while Chu Fengyi closed the door behind her and followed the excited young girl.
"Eleven, why have you come?" Seeing the young man inside, Ivanoti’s silver eyes curved into shallow crescent moons in delight.
"I happened to be in the capital for some business and took the chance to come see you," the young man said, ruffling Ivanoti’s silver hair into a tousled mess.
"Why aren’t you coming with us...?" Ivanoti covered her head with her hands, showing clear disappointment. Since Eleven had settled her in Qin City, he hadn’t come to visit much.
"I’ve been too busy, and I have a flight to catch to the 'Demon City' soon," the man sighed tiredly as he sprawled on the wide leather sofa. "By the way, how are you getting along with those senior students?"
Xiao Feng immediately brightened up and began telling Eleven about her senior classmates.
"Senior Sister Jiuchuan loves studying. Whenever she has time, she opens her notebook and memorizes nonstop. But she’s so gentle and patient when explaining problems..."
"Senior Sister Ziwen doesn’t seem very talkative but is actually very perceptive, noticing many details we missed. Although she gets terribly carsick..."
"Senior Brother Mo has been very kind to me, introducing many interesting and delicious foods along the way. But he and Senior Sister Ziwen seem to be whispering secrets that they don’t want us to hear..."
The man lying on the sofa listened to the enthusiastic girl recounting her classmates, a satisfied smile curling at the corners of his mouth.
So that guy "Qin" is actually quite caring.
And from what Xiao Feng said, it seems "Qin" has some sort of secret going on with his class leader?
Who would have thought that the little brat "Qin" from before was now already getting involved in romantic entanglements.
"Eleven" suddenly became intrigued, wearing a gossiping expression. "Hey, tell me more about Senior Brother Mo and Senior Sister Ziwen."
Ivanoti obediently recounted Mo De’s various acts of care for Su Ziwen along the journey, while Eleven listened avidly.
