"A secondary mutation of an ability is a truly rare occurrence." Hearing about Su Ziwen's encounter at the Pavilion of Anomalies, Chen Yue stroked her chin, deep in thought.

"And the phenomenon of one's presence constantly fading... I have never heard of such a thing." Although she shared the same spatial-type ability as Su Ziwen, Chen Yue had never witnessed the eerie situation Ivanoti described.

"Let’s take Su to the Third University of Anomalies Affiliated Hospital for a check-up first," Mu Qing, who had been standing to the side, suddenly spoke up. Chen Yue snapped back to reality and hurriedly pulled out her phone to contact the school's administrators.

Although Su Ziwen appeared to be fine now, the way her presence had been decaying earlier had left Ivanoti and the others lingering in fear.

"I feel like I'm perfectly fine now..." Su Ziwen didn't want to cause such a fuss, especially since her body felt as though it had returned to normal.

"It’s better to be safe than sorry," Mu Qing insisted. "The effects of an ability mutation are unique to every individual. Even though you’ve woken up, we need to ensure there are no underlying issues so everyone can finally put their minds at ease."

Hearing this, Su Ziwen stopped protesting and nodded silently. She hadn't felt anything amiss after the secondary mutation, but she hadn't realized she had caused such a stir while she was asleep.

The vehicle sent by the university soon arrived at the residence. Ivanoti and Yu Jiuchuan accompanied Su Ziwen to the hospital, while Chen Yue followed to handle the medical examination procedures.

Mo De did not go with them; he remained in the room, watching Mu Qing as she took off her black cloak and hung it on a coat rack.

"Why do you keep staring at me?" Tugged at the collar of her moon-white knit sweater, Mu Qing stretched lazily and turned to meet Mo De’s gaze.

"What else do you know?" Mo De always felt that Mu Qing knew more about the truth behind Su Ziwen’s symptoms than she let on. Having spent so much time together, he could tell at a glance that Mu Qing wasn't nearly as worried about Su Ziwen’s condition as she pretended to be. She was calmer than everyone else present.

"You really are terrifyingly sharp in some respects," Mu Qing said, unbothered. She leaned backward, lounging lazily on Su Ziwen’s bed. "Do you know anything about 'Old Gods'?" She propped herself up on her elbows, looking at Mo De instead.

"Don't tell me, the class monitor..." Mo De’s expression changed instantly at the mention.

"Relax, relax. Su hasn't been entangled with those unclean things." Seeing Mo De’s drastic change in expression, Mu Qing waved her hand, signaling him not to be so jumpy.

"Judging by your reaction, you must know quite a bit about them. In the view of those 'Whisperers of the Old Gods,' all 'Old Gods' are higher-dimensional beings that transcend the sensory range of low-level creatures like humans." Mu Qing spoke in a measured, deliberate tone while slowly surveying Su Ziwen’s room. She hadn't expected the cool and distant Su to have such cute decorations.

"What does that mean?" Mo De frowned, confused.

"Higher-dimensional beings are incomprehensible to those of lower status. Therefore, once a connection is established between the two, either the higher being is dragged downward, or the lower being is elevated upward, allowing them to exchange information," Mu Qing explained patiently. "Su likely touched upon a higher-dimensional realm and was elevated by it. That’s why her presence kept fading in our eyes; after all, ordinary humans cannot directly perceive higher-dimensional existence."

"What exactly did the class monitor come into contact with?" Mo De’s frown deepened.

"Not even she remembers what she touched, so there's no way for us to know," Mu Qing shrugged helplessly. "However, we can rule out those so-called 'Old Gods.' This mirror doesn't reflect any of that messy business." She tapped the tea-colored sunglasses on the bridge of her nose. While humans cannot perceive the "Old Gods," she could use the "hacked" vision provided by these sunglasses to confirm that there were no remnants or traces of any Old Gods here.

"Then in the future, will the class monitor..." Mo De was worried about whether Su Ziwen might suffer such an episode again.

"It shouldn't be a major issue. After all, what Su first perceived wasn't something as dangerous as an 'Old God,'" Mu Qing climbed off the bed and continued, "Even if you hadn't managed to wake her, I don't think she would have just sunk into that deep dream forever."

"Huh?" Mo De looked at her, puzzled.

"That girl’s mental anchor is rock solid; she wouldn't be willing to abandon all the connections she has here." Mu Qing’s gaze swept across Mo De’s face, only to find the boy looking even more confused.

In matters of the heart, this guy Mo De was truly dense—completely oblivious.

"Don't worry. Just as Su said, this is actually a good thing for her." Mu Qing hopped off the bed and patted Mo De on the shoulder to comfort him. "This harrowing experience is actually a stroke of fortune for her."

This was based on Mu Qing’s own experience; after all, before the black flames consumed her, she had once stared directly at those "Old Gods" with her own eyes. Furthermore, she had once witnessed true deities descending upon the human world with blades and fire.

"If there’s nothing wrong, then why did you have Teacher Chen Yue take her to the hospital for a check-up?" Mo De let out a long sigh, ultimately choosing to trust Mu Qing’s judgment.

"To put their minds at ease, of course. The medical report will definitely come back clean, and it will save Yueyue and those two girls from worrying themselves sick all day." Mu Qing stretched again. She had seen Mo De’s doubts and concerns, which was why she had stayed behind to give him some peace of mind.

"Thanks," Mo De said, scratching his head.

"Why so formal with me? Just help me tidy up the room later," Mu Qing said as she walked toward the door. She took her coat, turned back, and beckoned to Mo De, "Let's go. We'll head over to find Su and the others; we can eat lunch together."

Mo De nodded, first straightening Su Ziwen’s bed to smooth out the marks left by Mu Qing rolling around on it, then followed in her footsteps toward the Third University of Anomalies Affiliated Hospital.

The medical results were just as Mu Qing expected. Aside from some temporary, lingering sensory confusion, all of Su Ziwen’s test indicators were perfectly healthy.

The group breathed a collective sigh of relief and then headed from the hospital toward the school cafeteria. After a busy morning, it was finally time for lunch.
