“Elder Sister Chu is here. Please, have a seat.” In a spacious, brightly lit office, Jiang Tianwen, who had spent the entire night bent over his desk, looked up and saw Chu Fengyi. He immediately stopped working to greet her, then rose and brewed a pot of hot tea for her himself.
“Sorry to disturb you, Little Jiang.” Chu Fengyi sat down on the sofa and curiously surveyed the principal’s office. Jiang Tianwen was the only person there; all the principal’s secretaries had vanished without a trace.
“How did you end up being the only one left here working? Where did everyone else go?” Chu Fengyi accepted the teacup, took a small sip, and asked.
“Secretary Guan and the others went to deal with some miscellaneous matters.” Jiang Tianwen smiled awkwardly and sat opposite her with a cup of black tea in his hands. “But I truly never expected you to personally lead those students here to San Yi University for the winter camp. I was genuinely astonished when I received the notice.”
“When you stay in one place for too long, you eventually feel the urge to move. This is also a good opportunity to spend more time with young people, so I don’t turn into an old woman too quickly.” Chu Fengyi teased him with a smile.
“What are you talking about? The word ‘old’ might apply to anyone else, but it has nothing to do with you.” Jiang Tianwen smiled as well.
“We can exchange pleasantries later. I came here today for something important.” Chu Fengyi set down the bone china teacup in her hand and took a document from the bag beside her.
“Please, go ahead.” Jiang Tianwen’s expression turned solemn as he quietly waited for her to continue.
“Before we discuss the project between your university and the Fifth Research Institute, there’s something else I should tell you.” After opening the document, Chu Fengyi suddenly remembered something. She raised her head and looked across the low table at Jiang Tianwen. “Last night, one of our teachers spotted a suspicious individual on campus. Unfortunately, they failed to catch up with the person, and the fellow got away.”
“Ah! So one of the people involved was a teacher from your side.” Jiang Tianwen was startled by her words.
“Oh? Judging by your reaction, it seems you’ve already discovered traces of the intruders?” Chu Fengyi closed the folder and asked with interest.
“Yesterday, two unfamiliar auras suddenly erupted in the southern campus. By the time the nearby teachers arrived, those two auras had already sped beyond the campus grounds and disappeared into the neighboring streets. I had no idea your people were pursuing suspicious individuals.” Jiang Tianwen gave a bitter smile.
He had been alarmed by the incident the previous night. Someone had managed to slip silently into the San Yi University campus—an appalling oversight. Fortunately, no one had been injured.
All the principal’s secretaries had been dispatched and scattered among the various departments to verify and inspect everything. That was why Chu Fengyi had found Principal Jiang Tianwen working alone at his desk when she arrived that morning.

Nothing seems wrong until you investigate; then the truth is enough to make your hair stand on end. The report Secretary Guan brought back shocked Jiang Tianwen even more: someone had secretly infiltrated the surveillance network around the campus and altered part of the recorded footage.
After getting up that morning, Jiang Tianwen had grown increasingly frightened the more he thought about it. If something truly disastrous had happened the previous night—if someone had run rampant inside the San Yi University campus—the consequences would have been unimaginable.
“I’m not trying to lecture you, Little Jiang, but campus security is the foundation of everything. If you can’t even guarantee the basic safety of the students living here, then everything else is empty talk. You should understand that, in this world, the crises we face do not exist only beyond the Safe Zone.” After hearing Jiang Tianwen’s report, Chu Fengyi’s voice turned cold. Clearly, she was displeased by San Yi University’s belated response.
“Your criticism is justified.” Jiang Tianwen humbly accepted her reprimand.
“There must be limits to appearing lax on the outside while remaining vigilant within. Don’t concentrate all your security forces in the core areas. This is a campus, not a research institute. The students of the university are your most precious asset.” Chu Fengyi drained the tea remaining in her cup. It had gone slightly cool.
“That is all I have to say. What you do next is up to San Yi University.”
“I understand.” Jiang Tianwen nodded lightly, his expression growing even more serious.
……
Inside the Phenomenon Hall, apart from one cultivation chamber that was already occupied, Mo De had visited every metal-element cultivation chamber in the building.
He even returned to the first room he had entered to take a look. The metal anomaly particles within were still recovering, so he decided not to go in and harvest another batch, giving the cultivation chamber some time to catch its breath.
After continuously plundering the tremendous supernatural energy within several cultivation chambers, Mo De felt that his late Body Tempering Realm had become considerably more solid.
The steady improvement in his strength gave him a reassuring sense of security.
Before awakening his supernatural ability, Mo De’s physical strength had remained stagnant for a long time. Yet during this period, as his supernatural cultivation advanced by leaps and bounds after awakening, his overall combat power had gradually risen as well.
If he launched the first attack at close range, Mo De could now suppress an ordinary early-stage Transcendent Realm expert. Gu Yichen of San Yi University had lost the initiative through a moment of carelessness, allowing Mo De to knock her down easily with a close-quarters assault.

What Mo De needed to strive for now was to bring his supernatural cultivation up to the level of his own combat power and grow stronger rapidly in every respect.
Sitting in the lounge, Mo De took out his phone and checked the time. After making a rough estimate, he calculated that, given the recovery rate of the anomaly particles inside the chambers, he could sneak back over in the evening and harvest another batch.
While everyone else was slowly absorbing the anomaly particles in the cultivation chambers to strengthen themselves, Mo De had already set an alarm and was preparing to come back on schedule to restock his supplies……
With nothing else to do, Mo De rose and prepared to leave the Phenomenon Hall, heading for the library in the central campus.
After all, the lectures would not begin until the afternoon.
“You are… Mo De from Tianshui, Qin City?” A voice suddenly called out, stopping Mo De as he was about to leave.
“Good day, Teacher Chu.” Recognizing the other person, Mo De gave a slight nod and greeted Chu Jiaojiao as she approached.
“Good day, Student Mo.” Chu Jiaojiao replied politely. She then stopped in front of him, adjusted her glasses, and examined him from head to toe.
“What’s the matter?” Chu Jiaojiao was somewhat astonished by how little time Mo De had spent inside the cultivation chamber. At most, an hour had passed. Most students were still trying to determine the absorption rate of anomaly particles best suited to them. How had the champion of the grand assessment already dusted himself off and walked out, apparently preparing to leave the Phenomenon Hall?
“Ah, haha… I absorbed a little too much and started feeling stuffed, so I thought I’d come out and stretch my legs.” Mo De rubbed his nose and casually lied.
“That quickly?” Chu Jiaojiao looked at the student before her in surprise. She had assumed Mo De had encountered some matter midway through his cultivation and was planning to find one of the winter camp instructors.
