Qin Anyi stood up calmly and turned around. A female student, who was fairly attractive but had a rather unimpressive figure, crossed her arms and sneered disdainfully. Even though she was squeezing her chest with both arms, there was still only a barely noticeable, almost negligible curve.

“What? Don’t you know it’s very rude to stare so blatantly at a stranger? Students from Changqing No. 1 really lack manners. When they see a beauty, they swarm like flies on excrement, without a hint of discretion. Wang Yiran, you actually chose such a tasteless person as your boyfriend. Honestly, I’m disappointed.”

The girl maintained an air of superiority, not even bothering to glance directly at Qin Anyi. Her contempt was palpable.

Qin Anyi remained silent, simply observing the girl. She was wearing the uniform of Yanqiao No. 2 High School. Sitting beside her was a handsome young man, whose face bore the same sneering smile as the girl’s.

Yanqiao City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Changqing City. Yanqiao No. 2 is the best school in Yanqiao and the only nationally recognized key high school there. Although both schools fall under Changqing’s administration, Changqing No. 1 and Yanqiao No. 2 have a competitive relationship. One represents the pride of Changqing’s urban area, while the other symbolizes the county-level city’s educational standard.

Unlike Changqing No. 1’s relatively open and relaxed educational style, Yanqiao No. 2 is strictly militarized, relying heavily on rote learning and repetitive practice. This method often yields superior results in college entrance examinations.

“Immature,” Wang Yiran shot a glare at the girl before returning to her seat. This truly infuriated the girl, who was on the verge of losing her composure. Such a proud person found it unbearable to be ignored, especially when that disregard was laced with contempt.

One had to admit the girl was quite attractive. Such students often received special treatment in high school, which sometimes bred negative character traits.

“Who are you calling immature? Wang Yiran! Don’t think you can act recklessly just because you’re pretty. Others may spoil you, but I, Yuan Jingya, won’t tolerate it!” Qin Anyi frowned and glanced toward the teachers and students seated near Yuan Jingya.

“Are you really going to let this idiot rant and rave here? Don’t you think it’s a disgrace to Yanqiao No. 2?”

“Who are you calling an idiot?”

“Arguing is pointless. First, you lack the intelligence for debate, so you’ll only embarrass yourself. Second, you have no chance whatsoever in this knowledge competition. The louder you yell now, the deeper your disappointment will be when it’s over. Why bother? People like you who are so self-righteous better not lose face in the end.”

Qin Anyi put his hands in his pockets, his tone sharp and cutting. He truly despised Yuan Jingya’s type, so he no longer bothered to be polite.

“How dare you lecture me! Who do you think you are?”

“Jingya, that’s enough.”

Yuan Jingya pointed at Qin Anyi, about to curse, but was stopped by the silent young man sitting beside her.

“Cheng Long, he humiliated me!” Yuan Jingya stomped her foot, clearly aggrieved.

“Students from Changqing No. 1 are always so arrogant. If you’re so confident, why don’t we make a bet?” The young man ignored Yuan Jingya and spoke to Qin Anyi.

“Go on.”

“We’ll bet on the results of this knowledge competition. Whichever school ranks higher wins. The loser must shout three times in their school’s campus during the busiest time something like, ‘Compared to Yanqiao No. 2, Changqing No. 1 is just a pile of rubbish.’ If I lose, I’ll do the same. How about it? Dare to bet?”

The young man spoke confidently.

Qin Anyi smiled. “Yiran is right, you’re all very childish. But I accept this bet. The more immature you are, the harder you need to be taught a lesson. Otherwise, you’ll never know your place.”

“I’m waiting to see you prove me wrong,” the young man said coldly.

“Trust me, it won’t take long.”
