Chapter 109: Wind Soar
Huang Yunshuo and his group were undeniably top-tier players. Not only were they high-level, but their gear was exceptional; among the eleven of them, excluding Huang Yunshuo, the iconic figure himself, there were six "Cerberus’s Kisses." Anyone capable of equipping such a weapon was a high-level player that ordinary gamers could only look up to.
Therefore, as soon as word spread that they were recruiting, the news swept through the Player Castle like a tornado. Many were stirred with excitement, flocking toward them.
"Do you have a Cerberus’s Kiss? We are prioritizing players who possess that weapon," Chu Jun shouted.
The quality of players in Stone Platform Town was generally average, but there were a few who owned a Cerberus’s Kiss. Combined with others who had teleported in from different towns for various reasons, they managed to gather ten people. Birds of a feather flock together; seeing the lineup Huang Yunshuo and his crew boasted, these independent experts decided to join without a second thought. Especially those from other towns, who were even more thrilled upon learning that the man wielding the "Champion’s Lament"—the big shot who scored 10,000 points in a single session of "Space-Time Wander"—was none other than Huang Yunshuo.
"Listen up, all eleven of you. Let’s set the rules first: do not use the remote warehouse. You should have some inkling as to why, so I won't elaborate," Huang Yunshuo said, nodding at the players as a preemptive warning.
Adding people to the Brotherhood was meant to be temporary. In truth, Huang Yunshuo didn't put much stock in the Brotherhood that Chu Jun had established; he had an innate aversion to guilds and factions.
"Understood. Better to avoid any friction," they replied, expressing their agreement.
"Now, we are recruiting a number of Priest players with staves, about 200," Huang Yunshuo continued. Considering that the players currently lacked mana-recovery sprays, a Priest would basically consume as much mana as they had, with no way to replenish it. After consulting with Chu Jun, Li Nan, and the others, they decided to recruit a larger number. The duties of these Priests were simple: heal Huang Yunshuo and his team to ensure they could maintain a stable damage output. With 200 Priests, their total mana pool would be at least 30,000 to 40,000. Given that each skill consumed 5-10 mana, they could cast thousands of spells, which was more than enough healing.
As for the remaining spots, it didn't matter much. They took on whoever seemed honest; no one wanted unnecessary trouble over the remote warehouse. Once the "Brotherhood" was full, the guild channel was buzzing with chatter. The 200 Priests were almost entirely female, making women the majority in the Brotherhood—over 300 in total. What they asked about most was wanting to see Huang Yunshuo's stats. Naturally, Huang Yunshuo wouldn't reveal such data for no reason. After briefly calming everyone down, he continued to watch the battlefield below the city walls.
"Do you see that treasure chest?" He pointed toward a glimmering golden chest about a hundred meters away. It was said to be a "Global Recovery Chest."
Previously, Huang Yunshuo hadn't bothered with the chest because the monster count was simply too high. But now, as more players ventured out of the city to battle the animal army in the southern district, they were getting closer to the prize. The players at the very front were now only about 30 meters away from it. It wasn't a long distance, but it was filled with countless colorful, hopping Level 3 bunnies; to cross it, one would inevitably face their siege.
"I’m going for the chest!"
He didn't know what the purpose of the chest was, but seeing an opportunity, Huang Yunshuo certainly couldn't miss it. To be honest, he was quite wary of the Level 3 bunnies. Their passive skills were infuriating, especially when they gathered in such dense numbers and varieties. If they all triggered their effects on someone at once, an ordinary player would lose half their life on the spot.
"Wind Soar!"
*Whoosh!*
Two sleek, menacing metallic wings snapped open from the back of his alloy armor, with a total wingspan of nearly four meters. These were the Wings of Soaring. Everyone present, save for Morning Dew Light Frost who had previously seen the stats of the alloy armor, was shocked and instinctively stepped back.
Huang Yunshuo took a running start and leaped directly from the seventh floor of the Player Castle. The moment his feet left the wall, he didn't feel a hint of gravity pulling him toward the ground. His body hung in the air without resistance, drifting downward at a horizontal speed of about 2-3 meters per second and a vertical speed of around 0.5 meters.
"Holy crap! He can fly?" Chen Juanfeng was dumbstruck, his hands gripping the wall bricks tightly, filled with envy, jealousy, and hatred. Damn it, the guy’s firepower was already ridiculously high, he had that bug-like knockback skill, and his defense was top-notch. Now he could fly? Was "Era of Reforging" created solely for Huang alone?
"I said it was called the Frost Cold Eagle. Can an eagle not fly?" Song Na snorted, then speculated, "Perhaps he will gain skills related to frost and low temperatures in the future. That would fit the name of his hidden class. That’s what I think."
"Ahhh, I want a hidden class too!" Chen Juanfeng felt 1,000 points of critical damage to his heart. He leaned against the parapet, eyes full of yearning.
Morning Dew Light Frost glanced around, and seeing that no one was watching her, she stealthily took out her bow and aimed at Huang Yunshuo’s back. Huang Yunshuo was descending very slowly; if you didn't look closely, it was as if he were completely suspended in mid-air. If it were only to this extent, Morning Dew Light Frost felt that, standing on the city wall, she could hit him with 100% accuracy. She wondered what would happen if he were hit by her slowing effect. Would he fall straight out of the sky?
"This is awesome!"
Huang Yunshuo, having discovered his vertical descent speed was only 0.5 meters per second, felt invigorated. This height of nearly 20 meters would allow him to fly for nearly 40 meters, covering 80-120 meters horizontally. He would land right near the treasure chest. It was simply perfect.
Flying in the sky, he gave a hearty stretch and swung his long spear twice.
"Dragon’s Roam!"
He was startled; he had accidentally triggered the skill. *Whoosh.* His slow, snail-like movement suddenly recoiled backward three meters, only to rush forward again at an even greater speed, his spear piercing the air ahead with a vicious strike.
"Well, this works too, damn it." Huang Yunshuo was a bit stunned. He was currently flying in the sky—he didn't realize such displacement skills could be used here. He considered trying to see if he could use a Charged Assault in mid-air, but given the 300-second cooldown, he decided to save it for his escape after grabbing the treasure chest.
Switching to his rocket launcher, Huang Yunshuo blasted into a dense cluster of chicks. *Boom.* The chicks hit by the blast vanished into white light instantly. A dozen were sent flying, crashing to the ground with critical health, suffering fall damage, and dying one after another, clearing a patch of land in an instant.
Nearby players looked up in horror. Huang Yunshuo gave a cold, aloof smile, his mouth curling with delight.
