Chapter 115: The Life Restoration Gem
Allocating 10 free attribute points to Constitution, Huang Yunshuo’s Constitution skyrocketed from 55 to 67, and his health jumped from 275 to 335. With the Brotherhood’s health bonus, it nearly reached 420 HP—truly a tank through and through!
Indeed, Huang Yunshuo was determined to cultivate himself into a formidable tank.
Since he wasn’t a magic-type class, he had stopped adding points to Intelligence after a while. He already had enough Strength and Agility, and further investment there yielded diminishing returns. Constitution, however, was the most practical—each point added 5 HP, making those 10 points worth a hefty 50 health.
As the system announcement sounded, the hormone-fueled newbies quickly retreated, staggering and swaggering back.
“Finally some free time,” Huang Yunshuo sighed in relief. The coins collected by the priest girls amounted to nearly 5,000 copper coins, which he could use to replenish rocket ammo and repair his gear.
Thinking about repairs, Huang Yunshuo took out his equipment care spray and checked the durability of his alloy battle armor and rocket launcher.
The rocket launcher still had 71% durability, but the alloy armor was down to only 49%.
“Please, gods of heaven and earth, don’t let this be too troublesome,” he muttered, spraying the rocket launcher once.
The durability jumped to 72%.
“Not bad,” he said, before spraying the alloy armor.
It rose to 50%.
One percentage point for each—Huang Yunshuo felt relieved. It meant both pieces of equipment weren’t in too bad shape. If their durability ever dropped too low, one bottle of spray could restore 30 points, lasting him quite a while—very comfortable.
“I’m heading west to the Elephant Mines,” Huang Yunshuo announced to those busy repairing, then left the player castle, heading toward the small town and onward in the direction of the mines.
He encountered no monsters along the way, nor any of the usual stuttering Liu’s jumping out to attack him, which was another relief. Soon, he arrived at the small stone terrace.
With a flawless stance, he knocked ten little roosters off the cliff, grinning as he hugged his rocket launcher, standing at the cliff’s edge and looking down at the eighty little roosters below.
Enemies never look kindly upon each other; the little roosters’ eyes practically turned green with envy and rage upon seeing Huang Yunshuo.
That damned pest had cunningly trapped them here for so long!
“Come down here and face me one-on-one if you dare!”
“It’s time to harvest you all,” Huang Yunshuo chuckled. The little roosters had 20 defense each, and his single rocket blast dealt over 100 damage. Since they clustered tightly, their collective damage from the blast would be the main way to wear them down.
Boom boom boom!
Bang.
A massive explosion!
Ignoring the abundant copper coins and materials, a green gem shot up into the air, making Huang Yunshuo’s fingers itch with excitement.
Boom boom boom!
Smoke and sparks filled the valley below the cliff. Almost all eighty little roosters were down. Huang Yunshuo jumped down and finished off the few survivors, then looked over the valley littered with loot and laughed heartily, crouching down to gather it all.
Each rooster dropped more than 30 copper coins—over 2,000 copper coins in total, enough to buy over 200 rocket rounds.
Among the various materials, quite a few were high quality. Comparing them to the materials needed for thrusters, Huang Yunshuo was thrilled to find at least three types he required.
Little rooster feathers.
Gathering the eighty feathers into his bag, Huang Yunshuo smiled faintly.
They wouldn’t escape—he could probably head to the tailor’s shop to craft gear, most likely hats, and the stats would definitely be good.
Low-level Life Regeneration Gems (Flawed): Level 1
Automatically restore 1 HP every 5 seconds.
These functioned like the chickling cloak’s life regeneration skill—quite excellent for embedding in the rocket launcher or alloy armor!
Huang Yunshuo happily counted fourteen in total, exactly enough to synthesize once.
He took out nine gems and selected synthesis. A dazzling green light flashed, and in his hand appeared a slightly larger, more radiant green gem.
Low-level Life Regeneration Gem (Perfect): Level 10
Automatically restores 2 HP every 5 seconds.
Wow. So now he could regenerate 3 HP every 5 seconds? Although this seemed negligible in fierce combat, a steady 36 HP per minute was a solid, uninterrupted recovery—not influenced by anything else. Doing nothing for a minute would add that much health—quite the bargain.
And that was during battle. At other times, it was even more beneficial.
Even if Huang Yunshuo had no potions or sprays on him and was thrown into a monster zone, he could still kill monsters and level up smoothly. When out of health, he could simply sit down, recover properly, browse forums, and boast until fully healed. Comfortable indeed.
“How do I get back up there?” Huang Yunshuo looked up at the cliff’s edge—it seemed very high.
“Try the pickaxe,” he thought.
He took out the pickaxe and struck the cliff wall. Since this wasn’t a mine, the rock was much softer and easily chipped.
A chunk of stone fell, creating a small pit. He dug another few dozen centimeters above the pit.
By chiseling a small hole with his pickaxe, Huang Yunshuo climbed to the top. Barely steadying his footing, ten little roosters charged at him. Irritated, he knocked them away and sprinted toward the town.
At Stone Terrace Town, the monster attacks were mild.
Seeing no serious threat, many players poured out of the city again. Ye Piaoxue and her group went out to grind experience and gather coins and materials. Huang Yunshuo, having replenished his ammo and repaired gear, felt a bit lazy to venture out.
“Time to log off and rest.”
He removed his helmet, stretched his stiff arms and legs, feeling much better. Leaning back on the sofa with crossed legs, he took out his photonic tablet and opened the official forum.
“Da Huang, you logged off!”
Tail’s voice rang out. His floating chair drifted over, mechanical arms holding two tools, scattered metal fragments on his body.
“Huh?”
“Tail, how’s the repair on your mainframe hardware?” Huang Yunshuo asked.
Tail’s main priority now was repairing his own hardware, aiming to lower damage levels and improve his mainframe’s various functions.
Being a spaceship steward was secondary compared to the immediate crisis with the Kusanagi fighter.
“I’m self-repairing and already making progress! Damage reduced to 55%, detection systems nearly fully restored, with a 25-light-minute range!” Tail reported.
“Good, good!” Huang Yunshuo was pleased. “Any news on the Kusanagi?”
“Nope. Still roaming near the asteroid belt, seems to be gathering something, maintaining a 15-light-minute distance from us,” Tail said.
“Damn it,” Huang Yunshuo frowned. The Mingjing had been towing the asteroid for so long, yet that thing still lingered behind. If it was intentional, impossible; if unintentional, what a coincidence.
If the Kusanagi stayed still, Mingjing should have long since left it far behind.
