Chapter 118: Consuming Myself
Your Yida quickly replied, “135, I have 30,000 on hand.”
Huang Yunshuo glanced at his credit balance—only 4.17 million left—and decided to wait for a reply from Nightlight Radiance.
Soon, Nightlight Radiance responded, “I have plenty of copper coins; I can lend you a few tens of thousands.”
Huang Yunshuo took a look and immediately muted your Yida.
Now that’s generosity!
No wonder she could hold her own against the Bloodfall in the Great Tang Smoke and Clouds—every move she made was downright admirable! While others were scheming to make a quick buck, she was thinking about lending him money. That was the difference.
“Tell me, what do you need? I’ll help you get it!” Huang Yunshuo asked magnanimously. Nightlight Radiance surely had something she required, and he wanted to see if he could assist.
“I heard from someone that the Little Rooster might drop Life Recovery Gems. Do you know anything about that?” Nightlight Radiance inquired.
Huang Yunshuo replied, “Who told you that? Has anyone actually gotten one from the Little Rooster?”
“It was leaked by a relatively well-known battle team studio, but the news was quickly deleted. I’m not sure if it’s true.”
“Now I can tell you it’s true—the Little Rooster can indeed drop Life Recovery Gems.”
Huang Yunshuo placed five flawed green gems he had spare into the trade window and confirmed.
At the same time, he said to Nightlight Radiance, “Getting that drop is tricky; the Little Rooster isn’t easy to deal with. I can help gather four more so you can combine them into one big gem that restores 2 HP every 5 seconds.”
Nightlight Radiance sent a cheerful smile emoji and placed a full 90,000 copper coins into the trade window, confirming the deal.
“I’ll trade 90,000 copper coins for these nine gems! Looking forward to good news from you.”
She was in high spirits; as a knight, she needed recovery gems or equipment more than any other class.
“Holy crap...” Huang Yunshuo was stunned.
90,000 copper coins for a single gem that restores 2 HP every 5 seconds? That’s over 10 million credit points! Was she being too generous?
But Huang Yunshuo wasn’t one to be picky; his nature was to accept whatever was given without hesitation.
At worst, he could craft her a set of flawed green gems—two gems socketed into two pieces of equipment, restoring 4 HP every 5 seconds. That would be worth the copper coins she spent.
After ending the chat, Huang Yunshuo was in high spirits.
With 90,000 copper coins credited, not only was the ammo issue resolved, but there was probably enough for the thruster too. He was absolutely pumped!
He quickly logged onto the universal server shop and searched for thruster materials according to the list. He bought all the cheaper items he found, spending over 40,000 copper coins in one go—almost half the materials gathered.
“The remaining materials are either expensive or unavailable in the universal shop. I’ll have to check back later.”
A quick calculation told him the thruster would cost at least 100,000 copper coins.
“If I remember correctly, they gave me 10 silver coins before?”
A sudden excitement sparked in Huang Yunshuo’s heart as he pulled ten silver coins from his backpack.
One silver coin equals 10,000 copper coins!
This was the standard exchange rate, but converting copper to silver usually cost at least 12,000 copper coins due to silver’s rarity and value.
Many items could only be bought with silver coins—copper coins were useless for those.
“That’s worth 120,000 copper coins now, but I should definitely keep these silver coins; they’ll come in handy soon.”
He smiled in satisfaction, feeling great.
Huang Yunshuo fired a rocket at the sloth knights dozens of meters away. The effective range of the rocket was 20 meters, so he missed, but it successfully enraged the sloths and their piglets.
Seeing them swarm toward him, shouting threats, Huang Yunshuo smirked. He hadn’t tricked the sloths into dropping their nuts yet.
“I might as well die a few times; you can't catch a wolf without losing some sheep.”
He pondered briefly, then kicked his legs, opened his Wings of Soaring, and flew toward the sloth knights.
From the sky, he bombarded their direction with his rocket launcher. Though out of range to hit them, the constant shelling infuriated the sloth knights, who gathered in groups, yelling and taunting him.
Finally, the range was close enough.
Like falling meteors, rockets streaked down, exploding. Because the sloths were small and unstable on the piglets’ backs, and were busy clutching their nuts, the damage was negligible but enough to knock dozens of so-called knights off their mounts.
The piglets were blasted sideways by the shockwaves, the sloths tumbled off their backs in a flash, scattering nuts everywhere—a chaotic scene.
“Hahaha!” Huang Yunshuo laughed hard. This was actually effective!
The knockback cannon attack centered on the impact point, causing all sloths within a 5-meter radius to fall off their pig mounts. Nuts flew every which way, and the piglets panicked and scattered, sometimes stepping on the fallen sloths and making them scream in agony.
“You little brats, I’ve found a way to deal with you!”
Huang Yunshuo chuckled. These sloths probably hung from trees before dropping onto the piglets’ backs. Now that they were on the ground, with their tiny arms and legs and incredibly lazy nature, climbing back up was out of the question.
As he prepared to land, hundreds of sloths had already been knocked down, rolling everywhere and getting trampled by the panicked piglets.
“Leap Slash!”
A swarm of nuts flew toward him. Armed with a spear, Huang Yunshuo unleashed his ultimate move, dropping from five meters high to the ground, then switching back to his rocket launcher and sprinting away, firing behind him as he ran.
He didn’t land in the middle of the monster pack, but chose the edge near the eastern outskirts where the piglets gathered.
Pitter-patter.
Countless short legs scurried on the ground. The piglets snorted excitedly as they ran, but pigs, while enduring runners, could hardly be called fast.
Thus, Huang Yunshuo wasn’t caught for a while. Instead, he kept turning to fire, knocking more sloths off their mounts.
The number of sloth knights was still large. Huang Yunshuo couldn’t struggle much longer before a huge group of piglets flanked him from the front.
Trapped, Huang Yunshuo charged into the pig cluster with a powerful strike, running wildly and exhausting all his skills. When his health bottomed out, he cried out and collapsed.
“Da Huang gets full marks for this suicidal move—truly burning himself to light the way for others.”
Chu Jun gave a thumbs-up with a grin.
Yu Shiyin smiled and said, “He’ll probably have to die many times before those sloth knights are done for. I don’t think this method will work.”
“I wonder what that group-wide recovery chest does—the bottle that looks like floral water. Should we use it now?” Zhao Shengsheng asked.
“No, that has to be saved for the most critical moment, even though we don’t know what it does yet.”
