Chapter 78: Found in the Trash Can
The smile on Xi Rou’er’s face froze for a split second before vanishing.
“Yes, yes, yes, what a silly question I asked. Yun Fu speaks Italian, so the next few days will be much easier for us. The director’s team won’t be able to trip us up now.”
With that, she playfully winked at the camera.
Instantly, the barrage of live comments was flooded with praise—her stunning looks, cuteness, and likable personality.
Ouyang Ting, sitting beside her, couldn’t help but roll her eyes. Perhaps others couldn’t see through it, but she had grown up watching women like Xi Rou’er act all her life—she could tell at a glance what Xi Rou’er was thinking.
She glanced at Yun Fu, only to discover that the powerhouse had already closed her eyes to rest, exuding an aura that clearly said, “Don’t mess with me.”
Ouyang Ting swallowed quietly and decided to rest as well.
After about half an hour, the car pulled up in front of the hotel.
He Fang was about to pay when Yun Fu slowly stepped out and said lightly, “Mr. He, don’t forget the tip.”
He Fang’s hand, reaching for money, paused, and then he realized—this was Europe, where tipping was customary. No wonder the ride was only fifty euros.
He hurriedly added a little extra. The driver, beaming, accepted the money and chattered away cheerfully.
The production team had arranged for them to stay in a single-story apartment-style hotel, three bedrooms and a living room, and of course, the expense would be deducted from their budget.
There was heating inside. As soon as they entered, everyone felt revived.
“Xiao Fu, go pick a room. You girls choose first and I’ll bring the luggage up.”
Mu Bai approached sincerely.
Yun Fu was about to refuse when He Fang chimed in, “He’s right. You pick first. We men don’t need to be so particular.”
Three rooms—no matter how you chose, it would be awkward.
Yun Fu went upstairs and selected a suite with a bathroom.
The next moment, Mu Bai and Gu Haoyuan brought their luggage in.
“Thank you,” she said.
As soon as she finished, Xi Rou’er, who had followed them in, frowned slightly and spoke in an exceptionally gentle voice.
“Yun Fu, let’s leave this big room for Mr. He. The room next door is quite nice and it has a view of the river.”
[See, the contrast is stark. Yun Fu is so selfish!]
[Exactly, she doesn’t know how to be considerate to seniors. No manners at all.]
[No wonder so many people like Xi Rou’er. Just look at her attitude.]
[She thinks she’s all that because she speaks a little Italian—really sees herself as a princess.]
Xi Rou’er thought Yun Fu would follow her out, eager to see her leave embarrassed.
But Yun Fu simply glanced at her, then turned to He Fang. “Mr. He, since this room has a bathroom, we won’t disturb you.”
He Fang smiled, “All right. It’s more convenient for you girls. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, Rou’er, but it’s better for the girls to have this space to themselves.”
The smile on Xi Rou’er’s face stiffened again.
She tried to force a smile but couldn’t quite manage it. Awkwardly, she nodded, “You always think of everything, Mr. He.”
[Wasn’t this Yun Fu’s idea? No wonder she picked this room from the start.]
[Exactly, the other room is outside. Not convenient for girls, and some people just don’t appreciate it.]
[Why do I get the feeling Xi Rou’er is a bit fake?]
[Same here, but I wouldn’t dare say it. Her fans are terrifying.]
Sure enough, as soon as these comments appeared, Xi Rou’er’s fans flooded them out.
Soon the entire chat was filled with praise for Xi Rou’er’s gentleness, kindness, and generosity.
In the end, He Fang took the small room, the three girls shared the big one, and the two men from Man Sheng took the remaining room.
When Xi Rou’er entered and saw Yun Fu and Ouyang Ting together, her expression shifted before she grabbed her clothes and went into the bathroom.
The next second, a page popped up.
On the strategy page for Gu Haoyuan, the progress bar still read zero.
[Host, any thoughts?]
A flash of malice appeared in Xi Rou’er’s eyes. [No rush. There’s still plenty of time. I refuse to believe I can’t outshine Yun Fu!]
It was nothing but luck that she spoke a bit of Italian. The journey was just beginning.
Half an hour later, Yun Fu and Ouyang Ting had just finished a game.
Xi Rou’er pushed open the bathroom door and emerged, a wave of fragrance following her.
[Wow! The goddess is so fair—her skin is flawless!]
[I heard from fans at the airport that she’s pale and smells amazing. Even though I can’t smell it now, her skin looks perfect!]
[Couldn’t tell with the winter coat on, but now I’m drooling.]
[Is she bare-faced? She looks exactly the same as before—so beautiful!]
Even Ouyang Ting was briefly stunned.
As a woman, jealousy was instinctive, though only a little.
“I’m done showering. Are you girls hungry? I’ll go make something to eat.”
Xi Rou’er noticed the jealousy in Ouyang Ting’s eyes and smiled gently as she spoke.
Before they could reply, Xi Rou’er had already left the room, leaving a lingering fragrance behind.
Ouyang Ting pursed her lips, about to say something, when she noticed Yun Fu curve her lips into a subtle smile.
She was taken aback, thinking she’d seen wrong.
Yun Fu had always seemed aloof, calm, and formidable—she never expected to see such a cute side.
Ouyang Ting stared, realizing Yun Fu’s eyes still held a trace of laughter, and her gaze was fixed on the phone issued by the production team.
This phone only had simple games, could make calls and send texts, and had no other functions—at least it kept them from getting too bored.
But! Yun Fu had just smiled!
It couldn’t have been a video—so it must have been a message!
Ouyang Ting felt as if she’d stumbled onto something big.
If she dared to peek at Yun Fu’s phone, she would have seen several messages from a number made up almost entirely of eights.
[Have you eaten?]
[I have.]
[Bread and bottled water?]
[…]
[It just reminded me of my first time abroad. It was the same.]
[How old were you then?]
[Six, I think. Back then, I was sure I was picked up from a dumpster.]
In the living room, Gu Haoyuan was discussing tomorrow’s itinerary with He Fang.
“Mr. He, Haoyuan, are you hungry? I can whip up something for us.”
“Xiao Xi, you can cook?”
Xi Rou’er smiled bashfully. “I used to live abroad alone and couldn’t get used to the food, so I learned a bit.”
As she spoke, she stole glances at Gu Haoyuan. She expected him to be as surprised as He Fang, but he showed not the slightest reaction.
Xi Rou’er clenched her fists tightly.
