Another single-chapter post to talk about monthly votes!
First of all, I want to make one thing clear: I have never believed that the monthly ticket leaderboard is a place reserved only for the masters. As long as you have the ability, anyone can claim a spot there.
To be honest, monthly tickets aren’t that important to me. The difference between third and fourth place amounts to just three thousand yuan. Three thousand yuan—neither too much nor too little for me. I don’t have a family to support, no elderly parents or young children to care for. I’m just a single homebody. Whether I gain or lose those three thousand yuan doesn’t really make a significant difference to my life.
Secondly, some say it’s an honor. The top three newcomers on the monthly ticket board can earn the prestigious "Premium" badge.
But to me, that badge doesn’t hold much meaning. I’ve written so many books; three of them have already achieved premium status. Am I afraid I won’t make it? It seems I don’t even need to worry about that. So, then, why do I have to fight for a top-three spot in monthly tickets?
Compared to monthly tickets, what matters more to me is subscription numbers. Being among the top three on the new book monthly ticket board isn’t such a remarkable achievement. In a year, there are twelve months and thirty-six books. Out of those thirty-six, how many will truly be remembered?
When I first launched my book, seeing two thousand initial subscriptions made me overjoyed. I thought to myself, “Great, now I can finally take a good rest without constantly exhausting myself.” In February, I updated twice daily until the Lunar New Year, then took a proper break to write freely and leisurely.
I declared: for every additional hundred monthly tickets, I’d add an update; for every milestone of being highlighted, I’d add an update; for every alliance leader, two updates. As for the top three, I never even considered it—it seemed meaningless.
Yet, to my utter surprise, you all actually pushed me to third place. Really, I never thought about reaching the top three.
First, I don’t care about those few thousand yuan. Honestly, I don’t. I don’t think it’s worth staying up late every night just for that money.
Second, I don’t care about the honor that comes with the top three monthly tickets. I am destined to break into the premium category; I don’t need to obsess over a badge I’m bound to earn. I’ve written four urban novels; three of them have premium-level quality. I don’t need to lose sleep over a badge that’s already in my grasp.
So why do I strive for the top three?
Because of you—my dear brothers and sisters. When you pushed me to third place, the joy in my heart was indescribable.
Every monthly ticket represents your expectations. Yes, expectations. I’m not afraid to sound sentimental when I say this, but every time I plead for monthly tickets, the next day I see dozens more. I can feel the hope and anticipation you place on me.
I cannot let you down.
Sometimes, you just have to give it your all.
The ancient wisdom goes: "Give a peach, receive a plum." You have high hopes for me—how could I ever disappoint my beloved readers?
Regarding the monthly ticket leaderboard, I have no intention to judge or question anyone’s results. After all, with San Shao holding a strong position, I think artificially boosting monthly tickets is utterly foolish.
I believe this month’s leaderboard is still very clean.
Enough talk. Since we’re competing, we can’t afford to be underestimated. After all, I am Feng Shao Yu of Qidian, proudly so.
*Cough cough* Please don’t hit me...
Alright, no more wasting words. Feng Shao always keeps his promises. As long as I remain third on the new book monthly ticket board, I guarantee three updates daily. For every additional hundred monthly tickets, I’ll add an update. Surpass the fourth place by a hundred tickets, one more update; surpass by one hundred and fifty, add two updates; surpass by two hundred, add three, and so on.
Fourth place, you may want to crush me, but we’re not so easy to break! Even if I agree, my readers might not!
