Though Chen Feng had no real affection for Liu Kaifeng, the truth was that Liu Kaifeng was not truly a complete fool. Otherwise he would never have been let out for training, and he would certainly have lost his composure at the banquet. The brief exchange of sharp words moments ago seemed as if it had never happened.

After a few sips, Liu Kaifeng turned his gaze to Xiao Yu and smiled faintly. “By the way, Director Xiao, I have a fine bottle. I wonder if you’d be interested in trying it?”

“Oh?” Xiao Yu’s delicate brows lifted a little, and a faint smile touched her lips. “I’m curious, then. What kind of wine is it?”

“Of course, excellent wine,” Liu Kaifeng said with a mild smile. “Just wait a moment, Wang Zuo. Go get the bottle from my car.”

Wang Zuo nodded, instantly understanding. He rose and said politely, “Director Xiao, Master Liu, please wait a moment. I’ll be right back.”

As he spoke, Wang Zuo went downstairs, took a bottle of white liquor from Liu Kaifeng’s car, glanced around quickly, then slipped a small vial from his pocket and carefully poured the liquid from it into the bottle. The whole movement was so discreet that no one noticed. The turquoise liquid disappeared into the liquor without changing its color. Wang Zuo gave the bottle a quick shake, then hurried back upstairs.

When Wang returned, Liu Kaifeng gave a faint smile, lifted the bottle in his hand, and spoke to Xiao Yu with a smile of his own. “Director Xiao, come. Taste it. This was specially brewed by a famous master for my father. In ordinary days he can hardly bear to drink even a drop. And women who drink this are said to nourish yin and kidneys, keeping their complexion youthful.”

“Is that so?” Xiao Yu’s face showed interest. “Then I must try it.”

As he spoke, Liu Kaifeng quickly poured her a glass and, with eager eyes, said, “Director Xiao, here, try it.”

Xiao Yu raised the glass, did not drink at once, and instead held it lightly to her nose, sniffing it. Wang Zuo, at her side, instantly swallowed hard, a flash of nervousness on his face. Liu Kaifeng remained calm. This kind of thing was nothing new to him.

In truth, every time Liu Kaifeng negotiated with a woman in business, if she had even a little charm, he employed this shameful trick. He used it to get hold of her, then took nude photos and used them as leverage. The women he dealt with were usually women of status and rank. And because of the Liu Group’s influence and wealth, once Liu Kaifeng held the threat over them, they often swallowed their pride and endured it.

By such means Liu Kaifeng had gained plenty, added handsome profits to the Liu Group, and therefore won his father, Liu Zhenglong’s fondness. Sweetening in such illicit ways only made him bolder. Now he was using the same method on Xiao Yu.

In the instant Xiao Yu lowered her gaze, a blazing heat flashed in Liu Kaifeng’s eyes, as if he stood ready to taste all of Xiao Yu’s beauty and grace.

Chen Feng, standing by, did not care at all. A mere little brat, he thought; clearing him out with his own bodyguard would be easy.

Xiao Yu set the glass down and gave a slight tightening of her brows. Before she could speak, Chen Feng snatched the wine glass away and said in a light tone, “Sister Xiao, didn’t I tell you? Don’t drink strangers’ drinks. You never know what might be in this bottle.”

“What are you talking about?” Wang Zuo burst out, fury rising on his face. “You can eat just about anything, but don’t spew such nonsense!”

Chen Feng gave a faint smile and turned coldly to him. “Is that so? Then I suppose, Master Liu, you wouldn’t mind drinking this one and proving it for us?”

For a moment Liu Kaifeng seemed stunned; he had never expected Chen Feng to step in. He had been looking forward to immediate gratification, and now this boy had blocked Xiao Yu and dared him to drink. This was a powerful drug meant for women, a fierce aphrodisiac. Who knew what effect it might have on a man?

Anger flashed across Liu Kaifeng’s face. “Chen Feng, this is a lack of trust. You’re a child, I won’t argue with you. But don’t be so full of yourself. I’ll tell you one thing—”

“Right. I do distrust you,” Chen Feng said, coldly smiling. “I suspect this wine is tainted. If it isn’t, then drink it and prove it.”

With that, Chen Feng set the cup in front of Liu Kaifeng and smiled coldly. “Drink.”

Xiao Yu did not hurry. Holding her cheeks with both hands, she looked at Liu Kaifeng’s smile and said, “Master Liu, this little brother of mine tends to be suspicious. Since he doubts it, why don’t you drink and let us see what happens?”

Cold sweat beaded on Liu Kaifeng’s forehead. He felt trapped. Xiao Yu still wore a faint smile, yet her eyes flashed with a sharpness like a knife.

“Director Xiao, if you don’t believe me, then let it be,” Liu Kaifeng stood up and sneered. “I offered you my father’s treasured wine in good faith. If you don’t appreciate it, fine. But to distrust me like this—then there’s no need for business between us.”

He made as if to leave.

Xiao Yu frowned slightly but did not move, watching him with a cold stare. Beside him, Chen Feng spoke suddenly. “Master Liu, you’re really just leaving?”

Liu Kaifeng halted for a moment, turned back, and looked at Chen Feng coldly. “What do you want?”

“Drink it,” Chen Feng said, expression unchanged.

Liu Kaifeng twitched visibly. “Chen Feng, what are you saying?”

“I said drink it.” Chen Feng’s smile remained cold. “You can’t get away now. You must drink this wine.”

“Kid, do you know what you’re saying? You expect me to drink it? Who in the hell are you?”

His old tactics had always worked, and now the woman’s surrender was slipping away from his fingers. Fire surged through him in rage. Now this boy dared to force him to drink it—where did he get such nerve?

“I’ll tell you once more,” Chen Feng said, suddenly standing. A fierce pressure seemed to radiate from him. “Right now—drink it immediately!”

As soon as that cold force hit him, Liu Kaifeng flinched. A chill shot up his spine as if icy air had run directly to his scalp. In that moment, Chen Feng no longer seemed like a sixteen-year-old brat. How could a mere sixteen-year-old carry such terrifying menace?

“Director Xiao, I think there is no need for us to continue this cooperation,” Liu Kaifeng said through clenched teeth. “I have matters to attend to. I’m leaving now.”

“Hold on. Did I allow you to leave?” Chen Feng’s voice came again. Liu Kaifeng snapped, “What do you want?”

By the time his words ended, he found Chen Feng suddenly no longer behind him. Chen had already moved to the doorway. With his arms folded and an unhurried air, he said, “Master Liu, I don’t want to do anything to you. I already told you—I only ask that you drink this bottle. Such a small request from me—you shouldn’t be unable to do it.”

“Damn you!” Liu Kaifeng shouted, eyes blazing. “I’ll warn you: say one more stupid thing and I’ll make you regret being born!”

“And if your conscience is clear, what are you afraid of?” Chen Feng still smiled faintly. “I only asked you to drink it. Once you prove this wine is harmless, you can leave.”

“Shit, kid, who do you think you are? Our young master is supposed to drink because you say so?” Wang Zuo suddenly shouted and stepped forward, pushing Chen Feng hard. Chen Feng did not so much as flinch. Wang stumbled backward three or four steps in panic.

“Liu Kaifeng,” Xiao Yu said from behind the table, fingers laced together, smile still on her face. “Drink, then. Prove it. Otherwise, this younger brother of mine won’t let it go so easily.”

Liu Kaifeng stared at her, laughing coldly. “Oh, Director Xiao, you are truly fierce. This wine, just because you tell me to drink, I must?”

He turned to Chen Feng. “Move aside now, or don’t say I’m not polite.” Without missing a beat he pressed his phone and barked, “Bring the men in!”

At that moment, the room door flew open and two bodyguards rushed in. Though they had not come into the dining room for the meal, they had stayed on standby. One order from Liu, and they were there in an instant.

The two guards entered, and Liu Kaifeng looked at Chen Feng with smugness. “Still want me to drink it?”

“Hah.” Chen Feng exhaled once and met Liu Kaifeng’s eyes. “I already told you this wine—you must drink it.”
