Chapter One Hundred: Cremation for the Whole Family! (First Update)
A white BMW sped toward the wealthy district of Jiangzhou. Inside the car, Chen Feng’s face began to change at astonishing speed; in the blink of an eye, he had taken on the features of Luo Wenqiang.
The Great Extraction System, at first-level clearance, could even take on another person’s appearance, and it cost only a single achievement point.
Following the lead provided by Lu Rui, Chen Feng soon reached Luo Yongjiang’s villa.
It was a grand estate. Luo Yongjiang was, after all, a member of Jiangzhou’s elite, and naturally owned a detached mansion. Yet at this moment, the house felt especially cold and desolate. White mourning cloth hung all outside, and wreaths filled the grounds. A villa that should have radiated wealth and prestige now looked like a haunted house.
Beep.
Chen Feng tapped the horn, and the tightly shut gate was opened at once. A middle-aged man hurried out. Chen Feng did not know him, but guessed he was likely the butler. The villa was eerily quiet; in truth, apart from this old servant, the Luo family no longer had any others. Luo Yongjiang had dismissed all the servants and spent day and night sitting before Luo Wenhao’s coffin, cursing Chen Feng.
By then, the butler had reached the car window, bowing and scraping as he spoke with great respect. “Young Master, you’re back?”
“Mm.” Chen Feng nodded, then looked at him coldly. “Where is Luo Yongjiang?”
That stiff tone made the butler pause slightly. When had Luo Wenqiang ever addressed his father like that? Luo Wenqiang was a mercenary, true enough, but at home he had always been quite respectful toward Luo Yongjiang.
“The master is waiting for you in the hall,” the butler said quickly. “Young Master, I’ve been waiting here for quite some time. The master said that if you returned, I was to bring you in at once.”
“Get in. Lead the way.” Chen Feng’s voice remained flat.
The butler hesitated, then hurriedly climbed into the passenger seat.
As he sat down, he said with some surprise, “Young Master, that Chen Feng—have you dealt with him? That Chen Feng even dared to kill the second young master; he truly deserves a thousand deaths. This time, since his parents didn’t die—hmph—we ought to make sure they’re taken care of sooner or later too. Young Master, why is it only you who came back?”
“Is that something you should be asking?” Chen Feng’s gaze fell on him.
His tone was neither warm nor cold.
The butler instantly fell silent, unable to say another word, and could only look at Chen Feng awkwardly. The villa was large, but Chen Feng simply parked the car at the front gate.
Bang.
Chen Feng opened the trunk and directly lifted out the sack containing Luo Wenqiang, along with a can of gasoline. Seeing this, the butler could not help asking again, “Young Master, what is this?”
“It’s Chen Feng.” Chen Feng glanced at him coldly. “All right, let’s go in.”
With that, he hoisted the sack and casually handed the gasoline can to the butler. “Let’s go.”
The butler dared not speak further and hurriedly carried the can as he followed Chen Feng into the hall.
The room had been arranged like a memorial hall. Chen Feng’s eyes fell on the coffin placed in the very center, then shifted to the enormous television set off to the side.
On the screen was still Chen Feng’s thunderous speech.
“You worked hard. Why shouldn’t you succeed?”
“Wenqiang, you’re back?” Luo Yongjiang, upon seeing Chen Feng, asked eagerly, “How was it? What happened to that Chen Feng?”
Clang.
Chen Feng directly tossed the sack in front of Luo Yongjiang and said coldly, “I’ve turned him into a living corpse. You can take a look.”
Luo Yongjiang was slightly stunned. Looking at the sack that was still writhing faintly, an excited expression spread across his face. The hatred in his heart, like a venomous snake, had only grown richer with time.
With trembling eagerness, he untied the sack. But the face revealed to him made him cry out in horror, “What’s going on?”
Bang.
The words had barely left his mouth when a gunshot rang out fiercely in Luo Yongjiang’s ears. He looked up by instinct and saw his loyal butler clutching his throat and collapsing with a heavy thud to the floor. Luo Yongjiang stared at Chen Feng in terror. “Wenqiang, this, what in the world is going on?”
Not only him, even Luo Wenqiang, now reduced to a living corpse, stared blankly at Chen Feng. Looking at that face identical to his own, he had no idea what had happened.
“Who are you?” Luo Yongjiang’s voice suddenly turned shrill. He faintly realized that the man standing before him was not his son.
Who am I?
Chen Feng’s voice abruptly changed, no longer Luo Wenqiang’s at all, but Chen Feng’s own. Then he gently wiped a hand across his face, and at once his features reverted to their original form.
“Now do you know who I am?”
“You, you’re Chen Feng?” Luo Yongjiang’s voice became horrified all at once, trembling violently with fear. “How could it be you? Why would it be you? No, no, this shouldn’t be happening. Chen Feng, h-how did you become my son’s likeness?”
Though he had never seen Chen Feng in person, Luo Yongjiang was no stranger to his name.
This bizarre scene filled him with deep, bone-chilling fear.
“I’m here to kill you.” Chen Feng’s tone was calm, as if discussing something utterly trivial. He glanced at the coffin and said coldly, “How rare. You actually kept Luo Wenhao’s body all this time, and even left his eyes open. Heh, your tastes are truly something.”
Whoosh.
Luo Yongjiang whirled around and started to flee upstairs. As for Luo Wenqiang’s life or death, he no longer cared. He only wanted to survive. Everything else was meaningless.
Bang.
In that instant, however, he suddenly felt a wave of searing pain shoot through his knee joint, and he collapsed to the ground in agony. Chen Feng walked toward him unhurriedly. Luo Yongjiang struggled to get up, and Chen Feng fired again, shattering his other leg.
Luo Yongjiang fell flat to the ground. Chen Feng came before him and kicked him over so that he faced him directly. Looking at Luo Yongjiang’s utterly terrified expression, Chen Feng said evenly, “Luo Yongjiang, is that all? You’re leaving already? Aren’t you going to look after your son?”
“Ch- Chen Feng, p-please spare me, please spare me. I can give you a lot of money, however much you want. If you want women, I can give them to you too. I can give you all my family’s wealth, everything I have, as long as you let me go!”
“You think I’ll spare you?” Chen Feng looked at him and said coldly, “When you wanted to kill my whole family, did you think of sparing me? In your eyes, is your son’s life a life, but ours not worth anything?”
Looking at Luo Yongjiang, a contemptuous smile curved Chen Feng’s lips. He lowered his voice and said slowly, “Actually, Luo Yongjiang, you don’t know this—but you’ve already lived two months longer than you should have. Two months ago, I already wanted to kill your whole family.”
“Kill my whole family?” Luo Yongjiang shuddered violently. “Chen Feng, y-you can’t kill me, you can’t. You absolutely can’t do this!”
Before he could finish, Chen Feng seized Luo Yongjiang by the throat, a mocking smile appearing on his face. “Can’t do this? Sorry. If I had fallen into your hands, I believe my fate would only have been worse. So please, die.”
As he spoke, Chen Feng hurled him hard, sending Luo Yongjiang straight into Luo Wenhao’s coffin. With a dull thud, a thick stench of decay rushed into Luo Yongjiang’s face. Though well refrigerated, Luo Wenhao’s body still gave off the foul odor of death.
Luo Yongjiang vomited on the spot. He struggled, trying to crawl out of the coffin, but before he could finish, his vision went pitch-black. Thud. Chen Feng had already grabbed Luo Wenqiang and thrown him into the coffin as well.
Luo Yongjiang screamed wildly, reaching with both hands to pull himself out. Chen Feng fired twice more, breaking Luo Yongjiang’s arms. Then Chen Feng picked up the gasoline he had prepared in advance, twisted off the cap, and poured it directly into the coffin.
“No, Chen Feng, I beg you, please, don’t!” Luo Yongjiang cried out in desperate supplication. “I can give you money, lots and lots of money! My entire fortune, all of it, I’ll give it to you!”
“Shut up.” Chen Feng gave a cold snort, took out a lighter he had prepared in advance, struck a flame, and casually tossed it into the coffin.
Whoosh.
A blaze erupted at once. Luo Wenqiang hardly struggled at all; after all, he had already lost so much blood that his life was down to its last thread. Luo Yongjiang struggled frantically, but with all four limbs gone, no matter how he fought, he could not escape the coffin.
Sizzle. Sizzle.
The flames devoured the three of them with savage hunger. Luo Yongjiang’s struggles gradually ceased. Chen Feng then threw the butler’s corpse into the coffin as well, watching coldly as the fire consumed all four bodies and reduced them to ash. Afterward, he splashed the remaining gasoline from the can all over Luo Yongjiang’s villa, and in an instant, towering flames spread through the entire hall.
