How high is Iron Man’s rank?
Chen Feng didn’t think Iron Man’s rank was particularly impressive. First, judging by Tony Stark’s personal combat ability, he was really nothing more than a weakling with a combat power of five. His talents lay primarily in his superior intellect and knowledge.
Without the Iron Man suit, Tony Stark was just an ordinary person—so ordinary, in fact, that he could hardly be considered a hero.
Knowledge, according to the system’s evaluation, was the least valuable asset. A professor-level expertise was worth only a single achievement point in the system. If one looked at it this way, Iron Man’s knowledge was actually not worth much at all.
If that were the case, Iron Man would be the type who seemed unimpressive but was, in fact, quite incredible.
That being said, assembling Tony Stark shouldn’t be impossible!
But who knew how the system would judge it?
Chen Feng, however, was disappointed.
The system gave him a cold response: “Unable to assemble Iron Man, Tony Stark. This hero cannot be assembled!”
“Cannot be assembled?” Chen Feng’s eyes widened in disbelief, his brows furrowed. “Why? Tony Stark shouldn’t count as a high-level hero!”
“Tony Stark possesses black technology—technologies that humanity currently cannot master. The science he holds is at least fifty years ahead of present-day human capabilities!” The system’s mechanical voice echoed in Chen Feng’s ears.
“So that’s it!” Chen Feng sighed, helplessness written across his face. It seemed he had indeed overlooked a major loophole. How could the system possibly have missed it?
“Never mind. System, please store this opportunity to assemble for now,” Chen Feng exhaled, his expression tinged with resignation.
Casually, he closed the operation interface, stretched comfortably, but in his heart he was quietly calculating how he might use Captain America’s super-soldier serum for his parents. Chen Feng wasn’t stingy about achievement points when it came to his parents, but he was unsure how to administer it. After all, the super-soldier serum caused extremely intense physical reactions. The pain would be excruciating, and if his parents discovered the secret, how would he explain it to them?
“This really is a troublesome matter,” Chen Feng mused, rubbing his bare chin, pondering how he might give his parents the super-soldier serum without arousing suspicion.
*********
An empty mansion, a cold and gloomy hall.
In the center of the hall sat a coffin. The entire hall had been arranged as a mourning hall; what should have been a bright, spacious room now appeared exceptionally bleak and dim. A chilly aura lingered in the air. The coffin lid was not closed, revealing Luo Wenhao’s ashen face. His body had been tidied up, so the shattered bones in his cheeks were not visible.
His eyes, however, had been pried open, staring blankly at the ceiling.
He had died with his eyes wide open.
At the other end of the hall stood a large television screen.
“You tried so hard. Why did you not succeed?”
On the television, Chen Feng’s speech in the grand auditorium was playing.
Luo Yongjiang, dressed in white, had grown visibly thinner over the past days, but the viciousness in his eyes remained undiminished; if anything, his hatred and bitterness had only intensified with time, especially after seeing this video. Deep within, his resentment surged like a river, never ceasing.
“So this is the man?” Watching the television, a burly man spoke in a cold voice. As he turned his face, it was strikingly similar to Luo Wenhao’s, though his features bore a fierce, intimidating air.
“Yes, that’s him!” Luo Yongjiang replied hoarsely, “Wenqiang, he’s the one who killed your brother!”
Luo Wenqiang narrowed his eyes and spoke coldly, “I understand. No matter who he is, if he killed my brother, I will not let him go!”
He exhaled, then said quietly, “Dad, you’ve had a tough time lately.”
Luo Yongjiang forced a bitter smile, speaking slowly, “It’s alright, Wenqiang, now that you’re back, things will be better. Once we deal with Chen Feng, we’ll leave the country together.”
Though he said this, Luo Yongjiang knew these days had been far from easy, mainly because the Lu family had targeted him. He had no power to fight back; with Lu’s wealth and connections, he stood no chance.
“I still need to work for the master,” Luo Wenqiang said indifferently. “I won’t stay with you for some time. Besides, Dad, why do you want to leave Jiangzhou? Why go abroad? Isn’t it better to stay here?”
Luo Yongjiang sighed bitterly. “Wenqiang, you’ve just returned, you might not know. For some reason, Chen Feng has gotten close to Lu Rui, the richest man in Jiang Province. Recently, Lu Rui has repeatedly acted against me; I can’t hold out much longer.”
“Oh?” Luo Wenqiang replied carelessly, “The Lu family targeted us because of Chen Feng. I’ve heard that they’re protecting him, but what’s the story?”
Luo Yongjiang sighed again, “I investigated. The Lu family helped Chen Feng because, by chance, he cured Lu Rui’s son, Lu Ran, of his eating disorder. He made some kind of exploding meatball, and after Lu Ran ate it, his condition was actually cured!”
“I see.” Luo Wenqiang’s lips curved in a faint, calm smile. “I’ll make the Lu family stop.”
Luo Yongjiang looked at him in surprise. “What do you mean by that?”
“What do I mean?” Luo Wenqiang sneered, then spoke indifferently, “The Lu family targeted us because of Chen Feng. If Chen Feng dies, would they still have reason to act against us?”
“Well…” Luo Yongjiang forced another bitter smile, gazing at his son. “That’s not easy to say.”
Luo Wenqiang’s lips curled in disdain. “So Lu Ran’s illness is cured?”
Luo Yongjiang paused, then nodded, “Yes, it seems to be. But the favor remains.”
“Favor?” Luo Wenqiang scoffed, speaking slowly, “Dad, you’ve been a businessman for years. Do you really believe in so-called favor? If you were in Lu Rui’s position, would you offend someone you couldn’t afford to, just for Chen Feng?”
“No.” Luo Yongjiang shook his head, his gaze falling on Wenqiang. “But we aren’t people Lu Rui can’t afford to offend. We’re not in their league. It wouldn’t be hard for them to deal with us.”
Luo Wenqiang shook his head, his voice calm and detached. “I admit we’re not in the same league as the Lu family, but so what? I’ll let them know that if they keep coming after us, they won’t get away unscathed.
I’ve just returned from Africa with thirty-eight brothers, all seasoned mercenaries. Also, through the master’s channels, I’ve brought back a batch of weapons.”
Hearing this, Luo Yongjiang swallowed hard. Luo Wenqiang smiled, “What we need to do is simple—just show the Lu family our strength. Let them realize that even a cornered dog will bite. If our family is ruined, the Lu family won’t fare well either. Lu Rui cherishes his son most, doesn’t he? We’ll make it clear: if he keeps targeting us, his son will never live peacefully in this world.”
Though Luo Wenqiang smiled, his words carried a chilling undertone, and the hall grew even colder.
Luo Yongjiang spoke urgently, “Wenqiang, don’t do anything reckless. This is the country, not abroad. If things get out of hand, there’s no covering it up!”
“Relax, I know.” Luo Wenqiang chuckled, “I won’t be reckless. I’ll just show my strength, let the Lu family see that there’s nothing to gain from targeting us. I believe Lu Rui will reconsider.”
Luo Yongjiang nodded, “Start with the people close to Chen Feng—his parents, his girlfriend. Investigate everyone close to him. Just killing Chen Feng would be too easy. I want him to suffer worse than death.”
With a grim face, Luo Yongjiang continued, “Don’t worry, I’ve already investigated thoroughly—down to his ancestors three generations back.”
“Good.” Luo Wenqiang sneered, “I’ll gather Chen Feng, his parents, his woman, everyone connected to him, bring them all to this mourning hall. I’ll make them repent before my brother’s corpse, then let them die, bit by bit, in endless agony.”
