Chapter 94: Stopping Killing With Killing, Subduing Violence With Violence! (Sixth Update, Extra for Reaching the Red)
“Hello? Hello? Fang Yue?” Chen Feng called out anxiously.
There was nothing but a dead tone on the other end. Listening to the droning beeps, Chen Feng’s hand clenched abruptly, and the force of his grip began to warp the entire phone until, with a loud crack, the device was utterly crushed to pieces.
In his mind, Fang Yue’s last words echoed: Luo Wenhao.
Luo Wenhao?
Chen Feng had never believed in ghosts or spirits. Even if such things did exist in this world, he wouldn’t be afraid—after all, he possessed the Grand Extraction System. Yet those three words Fang Yue had spoken sent a shudder through him that he couldn’t suppress.
“Chen Feng!” Seeing the ferocity carved into Chen Feng’s face, Xiao Yu hurriedly called out to him.
“I’m fine!” Chen Feng released his grip. The phone was already badly deformed.
Frowning, Xiao Yu asked, “Fang Yue’s been taken?”
“Yes.” Chen Feng exhaled slowly and continued, “I already know who did it—it must have been Luo Yongjiang!”
Xiao Yu hesitated for a moment, then said, “Just now, I heard the name Luo Wenhao. Luo Wenhao—is he not dead? Could it be...?”
“Impossible!” A cold light flashed in Chen Feng’s eyes, and he spoke with a chilling tone. “I already killed him. There’s no way he’s alive. But if by some chance he is, I’ll just kill him again. Even if he’s a ghost, I’ll send him straight to the eighteenth level of hell!”
“What do you plan to do?” Xiao Yu sighed.
“Luo Yongjiang will know about this for sure!” Chen Feng narrowed his eyes, his voice icy. “Since they’ve made a move against me, I’ll strike at Luo Yongjiang first, so they’ll have to think twice before acting further!”
Xiao Yu was taken aback. Looking at Chen Feng, there was a hint of surprise in her eyes. Anyone else in this situation would likely have been in a panic, but Chen Feng was still able to remain so composed; it was truly remarkable.
Ding!
Just then, a light sound came from the operating room. Chen Feng snapped back to his senses and hurried over. He saw several doctors emerging from the room and quickly approached them. “Doctor, how are my parents?”
One of the doctors glanced at him and replied, “Don’t worry, the operation was quite successful. However, your parents’ injuries are still very serious—they’re not out of danger yet. If they can make it through the next twenty-four hours, they should be fine.”
“Alright, I understand. Thank you very much!” Chen Feng nodded calmly.
His parents were then transferred to the intensive care unit. Separated by a pane of glass, Chen Feng watched them quietly. He silently activated the Grand Extraction System and issued a command in his heart, “System, extract the super-soldier serum twice and apply it to my parents.”
It was ironic, really. All this time, Chen Feng had been looking for an opportunity to give his parents the super-soldier serum but had never found the right moment. Who would have thought that he’d encounter such an ‘opportunity’ as this?
Chen Feng knew very well that since his parents were still unconscious, they wouldn’t notice anything if he used the super-soldier serum on them now. He wasn’t worried about whether they could make it through the next twenty-four hours—with the serum’s enhanced healing abilities, they’d recover without any problem.
He withdrew his gaze. The effects of the serum were already beginning to show: expressions of pain flickered across his parents’ faces. But this was merely a reflex; their minds were still lost in unconsciousness, and they wouldn’t feel the agony in their bodies.
On the outskirts of Jiangzhou
Here, in an abandoned factory, Luo Wenqiang had changed cars several times before bringing Fang Yue to this old munitions plant. Getting out, he signaled two mercenaries to drag Fang Yue out, tie her to a chair with rope, and secure her tightly.
Once it was done, Luo Wenqiang treated the matter as something trivial. He casually took out his phone and quickly dialed a number.
Beep, beep.
After two or three rings, the call was picked up.
“Hello?” A puzzled voice came through—it was none other than Lu Rui.
“Lu Rui, this is Luo Wenqiang, Luo Yongjiang’s son.” Luo Wenqiang spoke coldly. “You should know what happened today, right?”
On the other end, Lu Rui’s pupils contracted. He answered in a frosty tone, “So it was you.”
Luo Wenqiang replied coolly, “Lu Rui, with your experience, it shouldn’t be hard to guess who I am, right?”
“The Black Skull Mercenaries.” Lu Rui spat out the words coldly.
“Hmph!” Luo Wenqiang sneered and continued, “Lu Rui, I came to Jiangzhou this time to avenge my brother. I’ll give you some advice: you’d best stay out of this. As for what you’ve done before, I can choose to let bygones be bygones.”
“Let bygones be bygones?” Lu Rui gave a cold laugh. “Luo Wenqiang, you’re awfully bold—are you threatening me?”
“That’s right, I’m threatening you,” Luo Wenqiang laughed again, his tone detached. “Yes, your family is powerful, with connections everywhere, and your brother is in the capital. Our Luo family can’t compete with you. But let me tell you, our family has nothing to lose. We just want to live well. If you won’t let us, then I’m not afraid to risk everything. You value your son’s life, don’t you?”
Lu Rui’s pupils shrank, and his voice oozed with murderous intent. “You wouldn’t dare!”
“Think I don’t?” Luo Wenqiang showed not a trace of fear, only cold laughter. “If you don’t believe me, try me. Just see if I won’t kill your son!”
He chuckled again and said, “Enough talk. Now, give me Chen Feng’s phone number.”
Lu Rui hesitated, then replied, “I don’t remember it offhand. I’ll send it to you by text in a moment.”
“Good.” Luo Wenqiang hung up at once.
A few seconds later, he received a text message.
Jiangzhou First Hospital
Seeing his parents’ breathing gradually calm, Chen Feng finally let out a long breath of relief. Their condition was no longer critical; at this rate, they would be fully recovered in three days at most.
Just then, his phone suddenly rang. It was Lu Rui.
“Uncle Lu, you needed me?” Chen Feng narrowed his eyes slightly.
“Yes,” Lu Rui replied. “I know who did it. It was Luo Yongjiang—his other son, Luo Wenqiang, carried out the attack. They were after you. Just now, Luo Wenqiang got your number from me. He’ll be contacting you soon.”
“Luo Wenqiang?” Chen Feng’s eyes narrowed. He nodded. “Thank you, Uncle Lu.”
Lu Rui shook his head. “No need. I expect they’ll contact you soon. Listen to me—if they do, call me immediately. I’ll send people to help you finish them off.”
Chen Feng was momentarily stunned; he hadn’t expected Lu Rui to go this far for his sake, to offer to have Luo Wenqiang eliminated.
“Uncle Lu...” Chen Feng called softly.
But Lu Rui interrupted, “Enough. I won’t waste words. I’m gathering my people now. Wherever Luo Wenqiang tells you to go, inform me at once.”
“Alright.” Chen Feng did not refuse.
Lu Rui hung up. Chen Feng exhaled, feeling a surge of gratitude in his chest.
Luo Wenqiang thought to threaten Lu Rui, but he had no idea that in Lu Rui’s eyes, such threats would never be tolerated. Now that Lu Rui had already made a move against Luo Yongjiang, if he showed weakness now, there would be no end to future threats. Only by eliminating the threat could he find peace.
Lu Rui hadn’t risen so high in the world by caving in to threats.
Scarcely three seconds after Chen Feng ended the call, his phone rang again. He answered.
“Chen Feng!” A hoarse, sinister voice came through.
“Who are you?” Chen Feng replied coldly.
“Who am I?” Luo Wenqiang chuckled. “I’m the one you’re looking for. It was on my orders that someone rammed your parents with a car. Now, your girlfriend is in my hands as well. So, do you want to save her?”
“If she so much as loses a hair, I swear your whole family will pay for it!” Chen Feng’s voice was brimming with fury.
But Luo Wenqiang just laughed. “Relax. She’s here with me. For now, I won’t harm her. Now, go immediately to the hospital parking lot. There’s a white BMW, license plate xxxx. Get in the car right away—no delays. Keep this call connected as you go.”
Xiao Yu opened her mouth to speak, but Chen Feng shook his head and cut her off, responding coolly into the phone, “Fine, I’ll do as you say.”
Chen Feng was well aware of just how dangerous Luo Wenqiang was. He had calculated everything, not leaving Chen Feng a single chance to seek help or even think. That was what made him so terrifying—he’d likely already anticipated Lu Rui’s countermeasures.
But with or without Lu Rui, it made no difference.
Chen Feng walked slowly toward the elevator, a wild idea spinning in his mind.
To end killing with killing. To answer violence with violence.
The Luo family—all of them—must die! (To be continued...)
