Chapter 78: The Complete Super Soldier Serum!
At noon, when school let out, Chen Feng didn’t go home. His family’s house had long since been burned down by people sent by Luo Wenhao, so Chen Feng asked Xiao Yu for a favor and had her buy him an apartment in the center of Jiangzhou. Xiao Yu readily agreed, and the house was ready the next day. The furniture, however, had not yet been purchased, but Chen Feng was in no rush. His parents still needed time to recover in the hospital, so every day he would bring Fang Yue home and spend his evenings either at the hospital with his parents or elsewhere.
Chen Feng had already shared the secret recipe for the special Juicy Beef Balls with Xiao Yu. Naturally, Xiao Yu had plenty of talented people at her disposal, and soon the Juicy Beef Balls were in production. The unique flavor quickly drew a great deal of business to Xiao Yu’s hotel. Although others couldn’t quite match the taste when compared to Chen Feng’s own cooking, the distinct blend of ingredients created a flavor unlike any other, drawing in ever more customers.
When Chen Feng arrived at his new apartment and made sure there was no one nearby, he spoke in a low voice, “System, extract the complete Super Soldier Serum for me!”
As soon as his words fell, Chen Feng sensed something new coursing through his body. This time, the system didn’t bother with syringes or needles—its effects took hold directly inside him.
“Damn!” he cursed under his breath. Intense pain shot through every nerve in his body. He could almost feel his cells being torn apart, then reshaping into something new. Not only that, but his mind felt sharper than ever, the pain even more intense than the last time. This time, even if he wanted to lose consciousness, it was impossible.
“So this is how excruciating the Super Soldier Serum really is?” Chen Feng gritted his teeth, enduring the transformation. At the same time, a yellow light suddenly appeared, shrouding his entire body.
Vita Rays!
These rays were meant to stabilize the Super Soldier Serum. Chen Feng could distinctly feel the changes in his body—a subtle, almost imperceptible sensation. Every cell seemed to be undergoing fission, his body swelling, then contracting, swelling again, and contracting once more.
This cycle repeated three times.
At last, Chen Feng exhaled deeply, not sure how much time had passed. Beads of sweat trickled down his body. He stood and stretched, instantly feeling a surge of vitality. His mind was clearer than ever, and all five senses seemed heightened. More than that, he could feel an extraordinary power of regeneration within himself.
“So this is what the complete Super Soldier Serum feels like.” Chen Feng examined his physique. There weren’t any drastic changes—he didn’t instantly develop the exaggerated, monstrous musculature depicted in films. Instead, his muscles remained streamlined, the result of his daily Wing Chun practice after slimming down some time ago. His build was tight and well-proportioned, more explosive than bulky.
The serum hadn’t changed the distribution of his muscles, but rather reinforced the existing structure. His muscles were now denser, more compact, especially the inner membrane, which Chen Feng could feel had thickened at least threefold.
He tapped his muscle lightly, then frowned slightly. Suddenly, he clenched his right fist, channeling all his energy and blood into it. Instantly, his right hand swelled to twice its normal size, and he could distinctly sense the terrifying strength that now resided in his arm.
This was the limit of external refinement!
The thought flashed through Chen Feng’s mind. He hadn’t just injected the Super Soldier Serum; he had also trained in Wing Chun. Captain America never cultivated—he only had some Western boxing skills and relied almost entirely on his enhanced physique.
Chen Feng, however, was different. In addition to everything else, he practiced Wing Chun, stepping onto the path of true cultivation. He understood how to use his inner membrane, how to control his strength.
He touched the sleeve of his shirt and smiled wryly. It seemed he’d grown even taller. His height had already increased from 172 centimeters to 185, and now, by his own estimation, he was at least 188 centimeters tall.
“Fortunately, it’s only gone up by three centimeters. If I’d suddenly shot past two meters, people might start to get suspicious.”
Hmm!
At that thought, Chen Feng unconsciously reached down to feel himself, a rather lewd grin spreading across his face as he realized that even that part of him seemed to have grown. After all, what man doesn’t want to be bigger in that regard?
Chen Feng could clearly sense how much stronger he had become—his strength had increased by at least three to five times. His senses, too, were sharper than ever; he could detect the slightest shifts in the flow of air around him, every subtle current, every faint ripple.
A faint smile tugged at the corner of his lips. Chen Feng murmured to himself, “So this is what it feels like to become stronger. I wonder—if someone shot me now, would the bullet even kill me?”
Though he said this, he had no intention of testing his body against live ammunition.

The An Family of Jiangzhou
In Jiangzhou, the An family was not particularly prominent, their reputation even less than that of Luo Yongjiang and his son.
The An family’s rise had only occurred in the last three to five years; before that, no one paid them any mind.
In a quiet garden behind the An family villa, An Ran sat cross-legged, taking out a delicate little box. She opened it, revealing a yellow pill with a faint, pleasant fragrance. Casually, she popped it into her mouth and began to meditate.
A cool, shadowy aura emanated from her body. It was June, and the weather was already hot, yet the area around An Ran remained icy, a chill spreading out a meter in all directions as if an air conditioner were running at full blast.
No one knew how much time passed before An Ran slowly opened her eyes. With a push of her feet, she rose to stand.
“An Ran, finished your training?” A man’s voice sounded in her ear, unceremonious and even somewhat flippant.
“Hmm.” An Ran responded with a note of indifference. “Seven Nights, how’s the investigation going?”
“This Chen Feng fellow is really something,” replied the man known as Seven Nights, clearing his throat. “I’ll tell you, this kid is downright strange. His family has no background to speak of. He was seriously ill not long ago, then after the doctor gave him an injection of some kind, he suddenly started putting on weight. And get this—over the past couple of months, he’s suddenly become a basketball ace, learned to cook, and his grades shot up. Not long ago, he had a run-in with Luo Wenhao, and rumor has it he personally killed Luo Wenhao. But that incident was covered up by Lu Rui, so I didn’t dig any deeper.”
“Lu Rui?” An Ran’s expression flickered with surprise, recalling how Chen Feng had climbed straight into Xiao Yu’s Maserati.
This Chen Feng was anything but ordinary.
“Look, sister, why do you care so much about this Chen Feng? What’s he got to do with us?” Seven Nights snorted, his tone dismissive. “You just focus on your cultivation and make sure to impress Young Master Ye when the time comes!”
An Ran’s gaze turned icy as she looked at Seven Nights. “Seven Nights, my affairs are none of your concern.”
Seven Nights was taken aback. “An Ran, you’re my sister. You know as well as I do, all of our family’s wealth and glory comes from Young Master Ye. Don’t do anything foolish, or we’ll lose everything!”
“Enough!” An Ran sneered. “I know exactly what I’m doing. I don’t need your reminders.”
“An Ran! As your brother, I have to warn you—for the sake of the An family, don’t even think about doing anything else!” Seven Nights called out again, then, as if a sudden thought struck him, he blurted, “Wait a minute—don’t tell me you’ve fallen for that Chen Feng?”
An Ran said nothing, her icy eyes fixed on Seven Nights. In that instant, he felt a chill run through his whole body, an indescribable cold seeping into his heart.
“Seven Nights, I respect you as my brother, but my affairs don’t need you to meddle!” She gave a cold laugh. “You know as well as I do, everything the An family has today is because of me. Believe it or not, I could take it all away from you, too.”
Seven Nights swallowed hard, a wave of fear rising in his chest. An Ran’s tone became calmer. “I’ve never cared for any man. As for Chen Feng, do you really think he’s worthy of me?”
