Chapter Ninety-Five: I’m Here, and You’re Dead! (Seventh Update, Additional Chapter for the Alliance Leader)
A soft click, click sounded.
Chen Feng held the phone in one hand as he said icily, "I've reached the parking garage."
"Good." A sneer came through the line. "Our car is parked in Sector B. Someone will meet you there."
"Understood." Chen Feng narrowed his eyes and replied with calm indifference.
As he spoke, he strode unhurriedly toward Sector B. While walking, he casually opened the Great Extraction System. With a thought, the interface immediately displayed the control panel of Preston from the Dystopia film.
"System, extract the emotion suppressant."
The command flashed through Chen Feng's mind. At once, his left hand grew heavy, and a syringe appeared there, filled with a pale yellow liquid.
The emotion suppressant was a drug that could completely strip away human feeling, depriving a person of even the most basic desires and passions.
Chen Feng was already displaying more composure than most, and his mind was fairly calm, but he knew very well that he was already close to the brink of losing control. He could not guarantee that he would remain calm much longer; he felt he was nearing the critical point of eruption.
He quickly pressed the syringe to his neck. With a faint hiss, the cold liquid entered his body. It did not hurt at all, no more than a mosquito bite.
But almost immediately, Chen Feng felt the world around him seem to change.
His emotions vanished completely. No rage. No fury. No worry. Not the slightest fluctuation of feeling. In that moment, he felt as though he were merely an observer. His body was still his to command, and yet there was also the uncanny sensation that it was not truly his at all. It was a profound stillness, utterly unshaken by any emotional tremor.
With a quiet breath, he tossed the syringe aside and stepped into Sector B. In a flat voice, he said, "I've reached Sector B."
A hand suddenly landed on his shoulder. Chen Feng turned and saw a burly man standing before him, his whole body steeped in a murderous air, identical to the mercenaries Chen Feng had encountered before.
"Kid, hand over the phone."
Chen Feng said nothing. He simply gave the phone to the mercenary. The man then lifted it and said coolly, "He's standing right in front of me."
"Good." The voice on the line came drifting through, cold and distant. "Bring him over. And watch carefully to see whether anyone is following you."
"I know." The mercenary lifted his chin slightly. Immediately, two men came out from the left and right, each grabbing one of Chen Feng's arms. The mercenary facing him curled his lips in a cold smile. "Kid, behave and come with us."
The two men seized Chen Feng by the arms and forced him toward the white BMW. Chen Feng did not resist. He let them escort him along.
Only after he had gotten into the car did one of the men draw a gun and point it at Chen Feng's head, saying leisurely, "Kid, you should know what this is. I advise you not to make any rash moves, or I'll blow your head off."
As he spoke, the other man snapped a pair of handcuffs onto Chen Feng, then pulled a black hood over his head, completely cutting off his sight.
The man in the driver's seat gave a sly laugh and started the car.
Chen Feng leaned back in the rear seat without the slightest fear. His breathing did not even falter. His demeanor caused the two mercenaries beside him to feel a flicker of surprise. In their experience, someone like Chen Feng was extremely rare.
Men like that were either formidable experts or tyrants who ruled their own territory. Yet no matter how they looked at him, Chen Feng was only a high school student. How could he show not the slightest emotional change?
The mercenary with the gun and the other one exchanged glances. The second mercenary also drew a pistol, and both muzzles were aimed at Chen Feng's forehead.
"Brother Qiang, he isn't resisting at all," the driver said calmly, still holding Chen Feng's phone.
"Good. I understand. Bring him over and report to me at once. Remember, do not let anyone tail you."
"Understood."
The driver nodded.
Chen Feng exhaled softly.
At the same time, Luo Wenqiang let out a slow breath as well. His gaze fell on Fang Yue, who was tied to a chair, and a faint sneer surfaced at the corners of his mouth. He had not expected Chen Feng to truly come alone for this woman.
"Brother Qiang, has that brat arrived?" a mercenary asked quickly as he came before Luo Wenqiang.
Luo Wenqiang nodded slightly, a disdainful smile appearing on his lips. "I really didn't expect that kid to actually come for a woman. Hmph. Tell the brothers to get ready. Do not take him lightly."
"Heh, Brother Qiang, when the time comes, we'll have to enjoy this little girl properly. Right now, can we—?" The mercenary looked at Fang Yue with undisguised lust.
Luo Wenqiang understood what he meant. These mercenaries had lived too long with death at their heels; women were the only relief in their hard lives. A high school girl like Fang Yue was an irresistible temptation to them.
He patted the mercenary on the shoulder and chuckled. "Don't worry. You'll all get your turn. But not yet. That Chen Feng isn't so easy to handle."
"Not easy to handle?" The mercenary curled his lip in disdain. "How hard can he be? He's only a high school student. It's not like he's some famous underworld powerhouse. What's so difficult about him?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, he suddenly felt his hair tighten. In the next instant, his whole body was yanked up before Luo Wenqiang. Before he could say another word, Luo Wenqiang leaned close to his face and said coldly, "A mere high school student cost us six men. A mere high school student dared to kill people. And you call that a mere high school student?"
Being held by the hair like that, the mercenary felt a chill run through him. He hurriedly said, "No, no, I didn't mean—"
"Never look down on him. Enjoyment is necessary, but the prerequisite is that you survive. Understand?"
Luo Wenqiang released his hair and spoke in a gentle voice.
"Yes, yes, I understand." The mercenary was trembling all over.
"Humph." Luo Wenqiang gave a cold laugh. "Tell everyone to stay alert. Until the final safety is confirmed, no one is allowed to let their guard down. Do you understand?"
"Yes."
The mercenary swallowed hard.
Watching him retreat, Luo Wenqiang's face darkened with excitement. "Chen Feng, you dared kill my younger brother. Today, I'll make you understand what regret means. Don't worry, I'll let you watch with your own eyes as your girlfriend is humiliated. I'll make you learn how to be human."
The white BMW sped along the road. No one knew how much time had passed before the mercenary acting as driver finally pulled over, turned back to Chen Feng, and said coldly, "All right, we've arrived. You can get out."
Chen Feng remained motionless in the car. The two other mercenaries were taken aback. One of them gave Chen Feng a hard shove and said coldly, "Kid, what the hell are you standing there like an idiot for? Move!"
"I have a question I'd like to ask you," Chen Feng said. "Was it you who drove into my parents?"
The driver mercenary was momentarily stunned, then burst into laughter. "That's right, it was me. What, do you want revenge? Unfortunately, you won't get the chance!"
"I see."
Chen Feng's voice was very light, without the slightest trace of emotion.
The other mercenary shoved him again and said coldly, "What the hell are you talking about? Get moving!"
Then there came a sharp metallic crack.
The two mercenaries' pupils contracted violently. In the next instant, they saw Chen Feng effortlessly snap the handcuffs on his wrists. For Chen Feng's strength, such handcuffs were a joke.
The two mercenaries reflexively pulled the triggers, but the instant they fired, both of them felt their arms tremble. In horror, they discovered that their guns had somehow been aimed at each other's foreheads. Then, their fingers squeezed the triggers hard.
Bang! Bang!
Two gunshots rang out almost at the same time. Two bloody holes appeared in the foreheads of the mercenaries. The driver jerked around, only to see two black gun barrels pointing at his own forehead, while Chen Feng wore a contemptuous smile.
"No chance for revenge?" Chen Feng said. "You really do like jokes."
Bang! Bang!
Two bullets roared out. On the spot, the mercenary's head burst like a crushed tomato, splattering the ground with gore.
"Hello? Hello?" Luo Wenqiang's voice suddenly came through Chen Feng's phone. "Akai, what happened? Answer me! Answer me!"
"Luo Wenqiang." Chen Feng picked up the phone and spoke in a cold voice. "I'm here. You're finished."
